Doja Cat’s Dad Claims Mom’s ‘Brainwashing’

The public narrative surrounding Doja Cat’s relationship with her father, South African actor Dumisani Dlamini, has long painted him as an absent figure. However, Dlamini has now broken his silence, sharing his side of the story in a video and accusing Doja’s mother of parental alienation and ‘brainwashing’ that allegedly kept them apart.

A Father’s Defense Against ‘Deadbeat Dad’ Claims

Dlamini, known for his role in ‘Sarafina,’ stated that he has worked hard to build his reputation and that the public perception of him as a ‘deadbeat dad’ is inaccurate. He claims that when he met Doja’s mother, a white woman, she already had three children. Dlamini asserts that he took her in and provided for the entire family, including her existing children, for 15 years.

He alleges that after he moved abroad, Doja’s mother began feeding negative information to Doja and her siblings. Dlamini specifically claims she used his identity as a Zulu man and their relationship’s end to portray him as a villain, turning his daughter’s heart against him with lies. He feels this narrative was fueled by a ‘racist agenda’ to make him fit the stereotype of an absent Black father.

Allegations of Parental Alienation

Dlamini insists he never abandoned his children and that Doja and her siblings even visited South Africa and met his family in the past—a detail he feels is overlooked. He blames Doja’s mother for ‘brainwashing’ Doja and claims her recent public behavior and ‘demonic’ aesthetic are symptoms of the ‘confusion’ planted in her childhood. He also suggests that Doja’s management team profits from her ‘troubled’ image.

This public statement follows a recent, highly publicized exchange where Doja Cat seemingly responded to her father’s claims of not being contacted by sending him a link to gay porn and telling him to use it to buy tickets to her show. Dlamini’s video appears to be a direct response to these ongoing tensions.

A Plea for Understanding

Despite the deep rift, Dlamini concluded his statement with a plea to fans not to direct hate towards his daughter. He expressed his love for Doja, calling her the ‘best artist,’ but reiterated his belief that she has been ‘fed with evil by her mother.’ He emphasized his spiritual grounding and his desire for peace, urging people to understand his perspective.
