Lore’l Criticized Michael B. Jordan, Now Facing Backlash

Lore’l’s past comments about Michael B. Jordan have resurfaced on social media, drawing renewed attention after his significant Best Actor win at the Oscars on Sunday night. The clip originates from an episode of the “Listen To Black Women” podcast, where the discussion centered on Jordan accusing Lore’l of calling him “corny.”

Awkward Red Carpet Encounter and Misquoted Remarks

The incident occurred in 2023 when Lore’l approached Jordan on the red carpet for a screening of “Creed III.” She mentioned their shared history, noting they “go all the way back to Chad Science [Academy] in Newark.” Jordan responded with a lighthearted joke, “Oh yeah, I was the corny kid, right?” Lore’l later claimed she was “misquoted,” explaining that it was actually her “Undressing Room” co-host, Dominique Da Diva, who used the word “corny,” though Lore’l had discussed teasing Jordan about his name in school.

Addressing the situation on her own show, Lore’l expressed her frustration with Jordan’s reaction, stating, “The disrespect was way louder than the apology. Even one of my home boys reached out to me like, ‘Oh, Michael said his bad. It was an article he read. He thought you said it.’ But you went on all these other publications– not only that, I have a nationally syndicated morning show. Come have a seat and talk about it.” She lamented that she had defended him against others’ criticisms and now regrets it.

Fan Support for Michael B. Jordan

Following the resurfacing of the clip, social media users largely shared their support for Michael B. Jordan. “I mean… people will never forget the way you made them feel. Idc I’m on Michael’s side,” one user wrote on X (formerly Twitter). Another added, “She literally teased him about his name and made fun of him for wanting to be an actor with his headshots wtf.” The drama has gained traction as Jordan recently won the Oscar for Best Actor for his role in “Sinners.”
