Angel Reese Invests in Future Female Athletes

Before she was the celebrated “Bayou Barbie” at LSU, Angel Reese was a standout basketball player from Baltimore, Maryland. Now, this dynamic athlete is making a significant impact by investing in the very community and school that helped shape her: Saint Frances Academy.

A Partnership for the Future

This week, Reese announced an exciting collaboration between Reebok and her own Angel C. Reese Foundation. The initiative is set to provide crucial support for Saint Frances Academy’s girls’ basketball team as they gear up for the 2025-2026 season. It’s a powerful move to empower the next generation of female athletes.

In a heartwarming social media video, Reese shared the news directly with the students, revealing that Reebok will be the official sponsor for the girls’ basketball team. This partnership is all about investing in young hoopers, future leaders, and the inspiring young women who are poised to change the world, starting right there in Baltimore.

Empowering Young Athletes

“Empowering the next generation of young female athletes has always been my mission, and giving back to the community that raised me makes it even more special,” Reese stated. She emphasized the pivotal role Saint Frances played in her athletic journey and expressed her desire to provide current “Panther athletes” with the resources, confidence, and inspiration they need to pursue their dreams.

Thanks to this collaboration, the team will receive brand new, custom Reebok game jerseys, warm-up sets, and pairs of Reese’s signature shoe, “The Angel Reese 1.” But the support doesn’t stop at gear; the team will also benefit from a special basketball practice session led by Reese herself, offering hands-on guidance in performance and athlete development.

A Pillar of Inspiration

Nytearia Burrell, the Head Coach for Saint Frances Girls Basketball, expressed her gratitude, calling the support from Angel and Reebok an “honor.” She highlighted Reese as a “pillar of inspiration” for the young girls and looks forward to seeing the team thrive both on and off the court thanks to this partnership.

This inspiring news comes on the heels of another significant achievement for Reese: her invitation to the USA Basketball Women’s National Team training camp. This opportunity could pave the way for her to represent the U.S. in the next Olympic Games, further solidifying her status as a role model.
