Usher Lawsuit: Bryan-Michael Cox Responds

Things are heating up in the entertainment world as producer Bryan-Michael Cox addresses the recent lawsuit filed by superstar Usher. The legal drama stems from a supposed failed restaurant venture, and Cox is making it clear he’s not taking the blame.

What’s the Big Deal with Homage ATL?

So, here’s the scoop: Usher reportedly invested a hefty $1.7 million into a new restaurant and lounge concept called Homage ATL. He handed over the cash back in January, expecting the group – which included Cox, Keith Thomas, Charles Hughes, and attorney Alcide Honoré – to secure a property on Piedmont Road. But months went by, and the deal apparently fell through.

Usher managed to get $1 million back, but the remaining $700,000 is still unaccounted for. According to the lawsuit, Usher was told by attorney Alcide Honoré that the money was difficult to recover because it had already been spent on ‘other purposes.’ Ouch.

Cox’s Side of the Story

Bryan-Michael Cox, however, isn’t staying silent. He took to Instagram to share his perspective, emphasizing that he’s caught in a ‘failed deal that I did not orchestrate.’ He’s adamant about protecting his 27-year friendship with Usher, stating it ‘remains fully intact.’

Cox clarified his position, stating, ‘I was not a participant in that business transaction and have no involvement in the ongoing legal process.’ He seems confident that this whole situation will be sorted out quickly.

Friendship Over Business?

It’s always tough when business deals go south, especially when friendships are involved. While Usher is seeking to recover his funds, Cox is focused on maintaining his long-standing relationship with the singer. It’s a delicate situation, and we’ll be keeping an eye on how it unfolds.
