In a heartwarming display of generosity, City Girls rapper JT has stepped in to support the family of a devoted fan who was tragically lost. The artist donated a significant $5,000 to help cover the funeral expenses for 21-year-old TikTok star Girlalala, whose life was cut short over the weekend.
A Devoted Fan Remembered
Girlalala, whose real name was Maurice J. Harrison, was a vibrant personality known for her energetic TikTok videos. She had a special connection with JT’s music, often rapping along to her verses in her popular content. Sadly, Girlalala was found shot multiple times on Friday night in Lauderdale Lakes, Florida.
Authorities arrived to find her in the passenger seat of a vehicle. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, she tragically passed away shortly after. Her presence was a bright spot in South Florida’s transgender community, and her loss has deeply affected many.
Tragic Incident and Arrest
The Broward Sheriff’s Office reported that Girlalala’s boyfriend, Shanoyd Whyte Jr., was arrested at the scene. A firearm was recovered, and investigators believe a heated argument between the couple escalated into a fatal altercation inside his car. Whyte is currently facing a charge of first-degree murder with a firearm.
JT’s Generous Contribution
As news of the tragedy spread, a GoFundMe campaign was quickly established to help with the overwhelming funeral costs. JT, without seeking public attention, made a substantial contribution of $5,000 to the fund. This significant donation helped push the fundraiser past its $25,000 goal.
Girlalala had amassed a following of over 280,000 on TikTok, where her personality and love for JT’s music shone through. JT’s thoughtful gesture is a powerful reminder of the impact artists can have on their fans and the importance of community support during difficult times.
