50 Cent’s Plea: Leave NYC for Shreveport?

It seems like 50 Cent has had enough of New York City, and he’s not afraid to say it! The rap mogul recently took to social media with a bold suggestion for his fellow New Yorkers: consider packing up and heading to Shreveport, Louisiana. This comes hot on the heels of a concerning incident involving an NFL player.

A Call to Consider Shreveport

50 Cent posted a graphic on Instagram, which has since been deleted, that laid out his case for Louisiana. The message highlighted values like capitalism, rewarding success, hard work, and lower taxes to attract businesses and create jobs, contrasting it with what he perceives as socialism and government growth in New York. He even directly captioned the post, “While you are rethinking New York City, rethink Louisiana All roads lead to Shreveport I’m not playing, but you can stay play for the jets and get shot!”

This strong statement followed the news that New York Jets player Kris Boyd was shot outside a restaurant on West 38th Street. Thankfully, Boyd is reported to be in stable condition, but the incident clearly struck a nerve with the rapper.

Past Criticisms of New York

This isn’t the first time 50 Cent has voiced his discontent with the current state of New York. Earlier this month, after Zohran Mamdani’s electoral victory, Fif took to Instagram again, declaring, “New York is over pack it up, let’s go!” He seemed to imply that Mamdani’s leadership would be detrimental to the city.

Mamdani, who is now Mayor, had previously addressed 50 Cent’s criticisms during an interview on MSNBC. While defending his tax plan, he acknowledged listening to 50 Cent’s music, including ‘Many Men.’ 50 Cent, in response to Mamdani’s comments, expressed concern that the tax plan would drive away businesses and that defunding the police could lead to chaos.

A Vision for Shreveport

50 Cent’s vision for Shreveport seems to be one of opportunity and a more business-friendly environment. By promoting capitalism and lower taxes, he’s painting a picture of a place where success is celebrated, not penalized. His message is clear: if you’re looking for a change of pace and a different economic climate, Shreveport might be the answer.
