It seems like drama follows the Real Housewives of Potomac wherever they go, and BravoCon 2025 was no exception! Ashley Darby recently shared that she’s found peace after apologizing to co-star Dr. Wendy Osefo for her comments about Wendy’s arrest, even though Wendy didn’t seem to accept the apology.
The Arrest and the Apology
As you might recall, Wendy and her husband Eddie Osefo were indicted in October on 34 charges related to insurance fraud and conspiracy. The charges stem from an alleged staged burglary where over $450,000 in designer items were reportedly stolen while they were on vacation. Wendy made her first public appearance addressing the situation at BravoCon, maintaining a composed demeanor.
During the event, Wendy subtly thanked her supporters, mentioning cast members like Stacey, Monique, Tia, and Gizelle who had reached out. However, the situation with Ashley Darby took a different turn. Ashley had previously made light of Wendy’s arrest, joking about “making melodies, not felonies” and calling Wendy “Zen Wen is in the pen.”
A Divided House: Friends vs. Critics
Wendy’s arrest clearly divided the cast. While some offered support, others, like Ashley, seemed to criticize. At BravoCon, when asked about their dynamic, Wendy stated, “We will save it for the reunion.” Ashley, however, admitted she might have been “a little hot in the pants” with her earlier comments.
Ashley went on to say, “I realize that this is no way a light-hearted situation for Wendy, so I do want to say that Iām sorry for how hot I came for Wendy and I mean it.” She even mentioned trying to apologize backstage, but Wendy wasn’t receptive. When Ashley stated she meant the apology regardless of acceptance, Wendy firmly replied, “I WILL NOT.”
Ashley’s Sense of Absolution
Despite Wendy’s rejection of the apology, Ashley told BOSSIP that she feels she has “absolved herself.” She acknowledged her words might have been “a little ho” but stated, “my slate is clean.” Ashley believes that if Wendy chooses to remain upset, that’s her prerogative, but Ashley has cleared her own conscience.
This situation highlights the complexities of friendships and public scrutiny within the reality TV world. While Ashley feels she’s done her part, the rift between her and Wendy seems to remain, likely to be a major storyline in the upcoming reunion.
