Ray J Accuses Kardashians of Settlement Breach

Ray J is breaking his silence and leveling serious accusations against Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner. In a detailed cross-complaint obtained by Baller Alert, he claims the infamous sex tape that propelled the Kardashians into global fame was not an accident or a leak, but a calculated business decision orchestrated by Kris Jenner herself.

The Sex Tape: A Business Strategy?

According to Ray J’s filing, he and Kim Kardashian filmed the tape together back in 2003. He alleges that Kim kept possession of the tape and later wanted to release it to boost her own fame, inspired by the media attention Paris Hilton received. The complaint states that Kris Jenner then stepped in, managing the deal and even requesting a second tape because the first wasn’t explicit enough for her vision.

Ray J further claims that Kim and Kris approved a plan to file a fake lawsuit against Vivid Entertainment to create the false impression that Kim never consented to the tape’s release. Even the widely reported $5 million settlement, he asserts, was a fabricated story fed to TMZ to generate hype, as no such payout actually occurred.

Alleged Breach of Settlement Agreement

The current legal battle stems from the Kardashians reigniting the sex tape narrative on their new Hulu show. This led to a private settlement in 2023, where Kim reportedly agreed to pay Ray J $6 million. The agreement stipulated that all parties would cease public discussion of the tape and included a $1 million penalty for any disparaging statements, with disputes to be handled through private arbitration.

However, Ray J alleges the Kardashians violated the agreement almost immediately. Episodes of ‘The Kardashians’ featured Kim, Kris, Ye, and Kendall discussing the tape again. Ray J claims they then tried to get him to sign an amendment forgiving their violations, which he refused. His subsequent comments on TMZ and a Twitch livestream, where he joked about RICO charges potentially applying to the Kardashians, triggered the current lawsuit filed by Kim and Kris, accusing him of defamation and harassment.

Ray J’s Demands

Ray J argues that his comments were taken out of context and used by the Kardashians as a tactic to avoid addressing their own breaches of the settlement. He also claims their public lawsuit has caused concern among his business partners, forcing him to defend himself publicly. Now, Ray J is asking the court to declare that Kim and Kris violated the settlement, that they forfeited their right to arbitration by filing a public lawsuit, and that they should release all claims against him. He is seeking at least $1 million in damages, plus attorney fees.
