Diddy’s Prison Phone Ban: What Happened at Fort Dix?

Well, it seems like Diddy’s time at Fort Dix federal prison is off to a rocky start! Just days after settling in, he’s already in hot water for a phone call that went against the rules. Imagine being in prison and getting in trouble on your birthday – that’s exactly what happened here.

The Unauthorized Three-Way Call

According to prison documents from November 3rd, Diddy made a prohibited three-way call. He was initially talking to a woman about visitation plans and even asked for “200 singles” to be brought in, though the purpose wasn’t clear. Things got complicated when he then asked to speak with someone referred to as “the digital person” about blogs.

The woman on the line then added an unknown male, which is a big no-no in federal prison. Inmates are only allowed to speak with people on their approved call list, and three-way calls are strictly forbidden due to security concerns. These rules are in place to prevent criminal activity and ensure monitored lines aren’t bypassed.

Diddy’s Defense and the Recommendation

Diddy’s team claims he wasn’t aware of the rule and never received an inmate handbook or orientation. His publicist, Juda Engelmayer, stated, “It was a procedural call initiated by one of his attorneys and was protected under attorney-client privilege. There was nothing improper.”

Despite the defense, prison officials recommended a hefty penalty: a 90-day suspension of both phone and commissary privileges. This violation report was actually filed on November 4th, which was Diddy’s 56th birthday. Talk about a birthday surprise nobody wanted!

A Prestigious New Role

Even with this disciplinary action looming, Diddy seems to be making the most of his time. He’s reportedly taken on a chapel job, which is considered quite prestigious within Fort Dix. His duties include assisting the prison chaplain and managing the religious library.

He describes the environment as warm, respectful, and rewarding. — Juda Engelmayer, Diddy’s Publicist

It sounds like he’s trying to find a positive and meaningful way to spend his sentence. We’ll have to wait and see how this phone privilege situation plays out.
