The music world was abuzz this week with reports of a breakup between power couple Big Sean and Jhené Aiko. However, the rapper is now stepping in to shut down the speculation, suggesting that the rumors are nothing more than “fake news.”
Addressing the Rumors Directly
Earlier this week, reports surfaced suggesting that the TWENTY88 duo had ended their decade-long relationship, which includes raising their son, Noah Hasani Chilombo-Anderson. The news sent shockwaves through their fanbase, who have long admired them as one of music’s ultimate power couples. However, Big Sean took to X (formerly Twitter) to address the claims.
Responding to a fan’s tweet questioning the breakup, Big Sean wrote, “No, its pretty funny how the internet can give life to things with no confirmation. Im sendin love to everyone tho [raising hands emoji sparkles emoji].” This response not only denies the breakup rumors but also implicitly dismisses speculation that he has already moved on to a new relationship.
Clarifying a Viral Video
The breakup rumors were further fueled by a video that surfaced following the speculation. The clip, reportedly from a stream featuring Sexyy Red, showed a white woman standing close to Big Sean. Aggregators and fans quickly assumed this indicated he had moved on. However, Big Sean clarified the situation on X, stating he had never met the woman.
“Yeah unfortunately I never met this person in my life lol. This girl was standing next to @hitboy who is cut out the video,” he explained. “I dont know why the f*ck she was so close to me though. I didnt see it at all til i saw this video and can understand the frustrations. Smh [crying-laughing face emoji]. But i dont even know this person at all.”
Focus on Family and Careers
While Jhené Aiko has yet to comment publicly on the rumors, Big Sean’s statements suggest the couple remains together and focused on their family and careers. He previously spoke about the importance of balancing their professional lives and family, noting that marriage wasn’t the primary focus due to these commitments. “I can only speak for myself that there needs to be like more work done so we could keep going. Because there’s a lot of focus on our family. There’s a lot of focus on careers and everything. And that is something that I feel like has not been the main focus,” he shared previously.
