6ix9ine Pleads for House Arrest Over Prison Sentence

Tekashi 6ix9ine, known for his controversial behavior, is once again making headlines, this time pleading for a lighter sentence. After facing multiple probation violations stemming from his 2019 racketeering case, the rapper’s legal team is asking the court to consider house arrest instead of jail time.

A Plea for House Arrest

The rapper’s attorney, Lance Lazzaro, reportedly requested that Judge Paul Engelmayer grant 6ix9ine six months of home detention rather than the potential three months behind bars. Lazzaro argued that a prison environment would be significantly more dangerous and difficult for his client, citing 6ix9ine’s past cooperation with government officials and his resulting classification, which leads to isolated confinement.

The attorney detailed that due to his classification, 6ix9ine experiences extremely limited social interaction and minimal time outdoors, making prison a particularly harsh prospect. This plea highlights the unique challenges faced by individuals in his situation within the correctional system.

Downplaying Probation Infractions

Lazzaro also attempted to minimize the severity of 6ix9ine’s probation infractions. Regarding the possession of cocaine and MDMA, he noted that only small amounts were found – specifically, 0.0122 grams of cocaine and five MDMA pills. Concerning the Florida mall altercation, the attorney claimed the complainant was the initial aggressor and that no one was injured.

While 6ix9ine has admitted to his role in the altercation, stating, ‘Me and another individual hit a person, and I was wrong,’ the defense is working to present these violations in the least damaging light possible. The recommendation for each offense ranges from three to nine months in prison.

Antagonistic Behavior Continues

Despite facing legal consequences, 6ix9ine has reportedly continued his antagonistic behavior online, engaging in public spats with other rappers, including 21 Savage. He has made insulting remarks about citizenship and taunted other artists, seemingly unfazed by his ongoing legal troubles. While 21 Savage hasn’t directly responded, he did tweet a cryptic message that fans speculated was aimed at 6ix9ine.
