Joe Budden on Drake Allegations & Spotify Lawsuit

Joe Budden, known for his candid takes on the hip-hop world, has weighed in on the recent allegations made by Panamanian model Gracie Bon against Drake. Bon claimed she had a fling with the rapper that ended badly, leading to her being allegedly blackballed from events. Budden’s reaction? He surprisingly believes her story.

Budden Believes Bon’s Allegations

During a recent episode of ‘The Joe Budden Podcast,’ Budden discussed Bon’s claims, which went viral after appearing on the Dominican reality show ‘La Casa De Alofoke.’ Bon alleged that Drake engaged in “weird things” at his parties and that after she cut ties with him, she found herself “blacklisted from every party.” Drake himself denied these claims on Instagram, calling them “big cap” and dismissing the idea of blackballing as “crazy.”

However, Budden stated, “I 100% believe that he blackballed this big b*tch from the UK night scene.” He went on to question whether such an action is inherently wrong, suggesting that perhaps Drake had his reasons. This stance offers a surprising defense of Bon’s allegations, despite Drake’s denial.

Spotify Lawsuit and Drake’s Role

The conversation also turned to the streaming fraud lawsuit Spotify is currently facing. The podcast co-hosts noted that Drake appears to have been used as an example in the lawsuit, a tactic likely intended to draw attention to the broader issue. Budden suggested that Drake’s prominence makes him a believable figure to accuse of widespread song manipulation.

Budden also shared his long-held belief that class-action lawsuits against streaming platforms like Spotify were inevitable. “I feel like I’ve been saying at least since 2018, that the future is going to be filled with class action suits against the likes of a Spotify,” he remarked, indicating his view that this lawsuit is just the beginning.

A Predictable Future?

Budden’s prediction about the rise of lawsuits against streaming services highlights a growing tension between artists and platforms over compensation and alleged fraudulent practices. His comments suggest a belief that the current system is unsustainable and ripe for legal challenges.
