RetrievAir, Pet-Friendly Airline, Lands in Atlanta

For all the dog lovers out there who dread leaving their furry companions behind or subjecting them to stressful cargo travel, there’s exciting news! RetrievAir, a pioneering airline dedicated to making air travel comfortable for pets, has officially landed at the local Fulton County Airport in Atlanta. This Texas-based startup is revolutionizing how we travel with our four-legged family members.

A New Era of Pet-Friendly Flights

Conceived by a father-and-son duo who weren’t keen on putting their 100-pound dogs in cargo holds, RetrievAir allows pets to travel right alongside their owners in the main cabin. This offers a much more accessible and less stressful in-flight experience for both pets and their humans. Starting February 2026, Atlanta residents will have the opportunity to fly with their dogs to various destinations.

Beyond Atlanta, RetrievAir is expanding its reach, with planned stops in Manassas, Virginia; Oakland, California; and Scottsdale, Arizona. Currently, the airline already offers routes to and from Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles, and New York. The flights are operated by RVR Aviation, a licensed U.S. air carrier, with RetrievAir chartering the aircrafts.

Comfort and Cost Considerations

While traditional airlines often charge between $90 to $150 each way for pet travel, RetrievAir’s pricing might seem comparable to a first-class domestic ticket. However, the key difference is the unparalleled comfort and convenience for pets. Dogs under 40 pounds fly for free, while larger furry friends can occupy an additional paid seat right next to their owner. This focus on providing comfort for dogs on long-haul flights is RetrievAir’s specialty.

The company gained significant attention after appearing on ABC’s “Shark Tank.” CEO Benton Miller and co-founder Mark Williams impressed guest shark Alexis Ohanian, co-founder of Reddit, ultimately helping RetrievAir soar to new heights and solidify its mission of making dog-friendly air travel an accessible luxury.
