Gibbs Clowns Benny The Butcher’s Walmart Shooting

It seems the highly anticipated reconciliation between Freddie Gibbs and Benny The Butcher is still a distant dream. After Benny fired shots on Westside Gunn’s track “FREE ROLEYS,” Freddie has responded, and he’s not holding back, choosing to revisit a sensitive moment from Benny’s past.

Benny’s Diss and Gibbs’ Comeback

Fans have been clamoring for a collaboration between these two lyrical heavyweights for years, but their beef seems to be intensifying instead. Benny The Butcher recently dropped bars on “FREE ROLEYS,” a track from Westside Gunn’s project HEELS HAVE EYES 3, taking aim at Gibbs. Benny rapped about rappers being checked like customs and puttin’ heads on shelves like trophies, clearly signaling he wasn’t letting Gibbs’ recent “Alfredo 2” project slide.

Freddie Gibbs, never one to shy away from a lyrical battle, took to Instagram Stories to clap back. While some of his messages were more cryptic, one post was unmistakably direct and pointed.

The Walmart Incident Revisited

Gibbs posted a screenshot from Apple Maps showing a Walmart location in Houston, Texas, with the caption, “Bout to run to wal mart lemme know if y’all need somethin.” This is a clear jab, referencing the 2020 incident where Benny The Butcher was shot during an attempted armed robbery at a Walmart. It’s a low blow, but in the world of rap beef, no topic seems off-limits.

Other Cryptic Messages

Alongside the Walmart reference, Gibbs shared other posts that, while less direct, seemed aimed at Benny. One featured a popular cartoon meme of himself in a rather ‘private’ pose, captioned “How I sleep knowing n***az can’t rap like me.” Another showed Gibbs looking confident, with the caption “U gotta come better than that.”

Conflicting Rumors of Reconciliation

What makes this feud even more confusing are recent rumors that the two rappers had actually reconciled. Westside Gunn had mentioned an airport meeting between them, sparking speculation. However, Freddie Gibbs himself downplayed the significance of that encounter, and Benny’s subsequent diss track suggests any potential truce was short-lived or never truly solidified.
