Drake, Adin Ross, Stake Face Second Lawsuit

It seems Drake, Adin Ross, and the online casino Stake are finding themselves in hot water once again. Following a previous lawsuit filed by Missouri residents, a second class-action lawsuit has now been brought forth by individuals in New Mexico. Both suits accuse Stake of running an illegal gambling operation disguised as a “social casino.”

Allegations of an Illegal ‘Dual-Token System’

The plaintiffs in both New Mexico and Missouri claim that Stake’s operation, despite its claims of not permitting actual gambling, is essentially a “virtual clone.” The core of the allegation lies in a “dual-token system.” This system reportedly involves purchasing non-redeemable “Gold Coins” which then award bonus “Stake Cash” that can be redeemed at a 1:1 USD rate, effectively functioning as real gambling.

Drake and Adin Ross are specifically named in the New Mexico lawsuit due to their prominent roles in promoting Stake. The plaintiffs allege that both celebrities earn millions annually by livestreaming their bets on the platform. This, they claim, is a deliberate tactic to attract and retain younger, more impressionable users.

Targeting Young People and Impressionable Fans

The lawsuit from Missouri, filed on October 27th, uses nearly identical language to the New Mexico filing. It states that Stake “threatens the welfare of Missouri residents and especially its young people.” The filing further criticizes Drake’s role as Stake’s “unofficial mascot,” suggesting his actions “glamorize the platform to millions of impressionable fans, many of whom treat his wild betting habits like gospel.”

Adding to the allegations, the suits suggest that Stake provides Drake and Ross with “house money,” meaning any reported losses are merely a marketing ploy to generate attention. This influencer marketing strategy, particularly through Drake and Ross, is allegedly aimed at teenagers in Missouri and other states.

Adin Ross Denounces Lawsuit

While Drake has remained silent on the matter, Adin Ross has publicly addressed the Missouri lawsuit. In a recent clip, Ross dismissed the suit as “bullsh*t,” urging people to read the case details themselves. He stated, “There’s nothing to talk about… I will tell you guys this: Read through the case yourself. It’s f*cking bullsh*t.”
