Ice-T, who co-created the series with Tommy The Animator, shared his vision, stating, “I just wanted to bring something new to animation that’s never been seen before, coming from the mind of a Black creator out of the projects of the Upper West Side of Manhattan.” That’s a powerful statement, hinting at a unique perspective and authentic storytelling.
A Star-Studded Production Team
This project isn’t just about the creative vision; it’s backed by an impressive lineup of talent. Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre are serving as executive producers, bringing their immense influence and business acumen to the table. Arabian Prince is also on board, rounding out this legendary quartet.
Industry veterans like Ken Corben, Kirk Shaw, and Thomas Vitale are also producing and executive producing. Kirk Shaw of Ambitious Entertainment highlighted the collaborative effort, saying, “We’re creating a world only animation could capture, where morality is a luxury and the visual style is as fierce as the story itself.”
From ‘Death For Hire’ to ‘Tehk City’
Interestingly, this animated series has a bit of a history. It was first introduced back in 2022 under the title ‘DEATH FOR HIRE: The Origin of Tehk City.’ The series will focus on a group of characters who operate in the morally gray areas, blurring the lines between anti-heroes and villains.
The series is slated for release in 2026, and Ambitious Entertainment is currently in talks with various distributors and streamers, both domestically and internationally. So, keep your eyes peeled for where you’ll be able to catch this exciting new show!
