Atlanta’s brunch scene just got a whole lot more flavorful! T’s Brunch Bar, known for its delicious Southern-inspired dishes and faith-driven atmosphere, has officially opened its fourth location on Main Street in College Park. Owner Teneshia Murray celebrated the grand opening last week, marking a significant milestone for her growing culinary empire.
From COVID Challenges to Culinary Success
Murray’s journey into the restaurant business was fueled by resilience and a desire for reinvention, especially after facing setbacks during the COVID-19 pandemic. “During COVID, when they closed everything down, food was essential,” Murray shared. “I told myself I would never be in that place again. I wanted to open a brunch restaurant, and I just went for it.”
She emphasizes a fearless approach to entrepreneurship, living by the motto, “Scared money, don’t make money.” Her faith plays a central role in her success. “You’ve got to put God first. I’m a faith believer, so I trust God for every single thing I get,” she explained. This philosophy has guided her through various pivots, including her previous career in beauty and barbering, where she owned Enve Barbershop for over a decade.
Consistent Flavor Across Four Locations
With locations now in Midtown, Cumberland Mall, Arbor Place Mall, and the new College Park spot, Murray’s priority is maintaining a consistent experience. “We are making sure that we keep our food, aesthetic, and brand all aligned and consistent,” she stated. Customers can expect fresh, flavorful dishes and superior customer service at any T’s Brunch Bar.
The menu boasts Southern-inspired favorites like Seafood Deviled Eggs and Chicken and Waffles, alongside newer delights such as T’s Beignets, Seafood Hashbrowns, and an impressive array of seven different waffle flavors, including strawberry, blueberry, pecan, sweet potato, and red velvet. “I love waffles!” Murray exclaimed.
Expanding to the Southside
COO David Butler, Murray’s husband, highlighted the strategic decision to open in College Park. “We’ve got locations in Douglasville, Midtown, and Cumberland, and we said we’ve got to come to the South Side,” Butler said. “Since they didn’t have something like this, we brought what my wife does best, with a twist.”
The husband-and-wife team effectively divides responsibilities, with Murray handling social media and the front end, while Butler manages construction and operations. They credit discipline and prayer for their continued success. “Prayer is the first thing,” Butler emphasized. “We check in all the time and keep God first.”
A Vibe That Moves You
The new College Park restaurant mirrors the vibrant, soulful atmosphere of its sister locations. Guests can expect bright decor, upbeat music, and a “come as you are” energy that encourages everyone, from young to old, to eat, dance, and enjoy themselves. Popular drink options include the Hartsfield Mimosa Flight and “The Magic City,” a blend of Crown Royal Peach, orange juice, and champagne.
Actor Alex Hibbert, known for his role on “The Chi,” was among the opening day guests and praised the vibe and the food, particularly the oxtail omelet. With four thriving locations, T’s Brunch Bar is solidifying its place as a culinary staple, aiming to feed people’s spirits as much as their stomachs.
