DJ Akademiks Denies Ozempic Rumors

There’s been a lot of chatter online about DJ Akademiks’ noticeable weight loss, with many speculating he’s using the popular weight loss drug Ozempic. Well, Ak himself has finally addressed these rumors head-on during a recent livestream.

Akademiks Responds to Ozempic Claims

During a ComplexDay livestream, fellow streamer DDG asked Akademiks directly about the Ozempic rumors. Ak didn’t hold back, stating, “Man, they think I’m on Ozempic, n—a, not gon’ hold you.” He then questioned the stigma around such medications, especially if they help someone overcome serious health issues.

Akademiks explained that he was once significantly overweight, to the point of experiencing breathing problems. He emphasized that if a medication helps someone become healthier and overcome obesity, why should there be a negative perception? He believes people should be applauded for taking steps towards better health, regardless of the method.

A History of Accusations

This isn’t the first time Akademiks has faced such accusations. Just two weeks prior, streamer Adin Ross also claimed that Ak was using Ozempic. Akademiks fired back at Ross, asserting that his transformation is due to hard work and healthy choices.

“I’m working out and learning to eat good and not drinking lean like you,” Akademiks retorted, implying that Ross’s lifestyle choices are less healthy. He clearly wants to emphasize that his progress is a result of dedication to fitness and diet, not a quick fix.

Understanding Ozempic

For context, Ozempic is a weekly injection primarily used to manage blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes. However, it’s also been prescribed off-label for weight loss due to its effectiveness in mimicking a hormone that signals fullness to the brain. According to the CDC, a significant portion of American adults struggle with obesity, making weight management a prevalent health concern.
