It seems the highly publicized social media feud between Cardi B and BIA might be cooling down, at least from Cardi’s side. Despite their recent back-and-forth that captured the attention of millions, BIA’s new album, ‘BIANCA,’ didn’t quite hit the sales targets many expected, moving only about 8,000 equivalent units in its first week.
Cardi B’s Stance on BIA’s Sales
When asked about BIA’s album sales, Cardi B made it clear she wouldn’t be joining the chorus of critics. “I don’t pick on b—es,” Cardi stated, emphasizing her refusal to celebrate another artist’s struggles. She added that she only found out about the numbers recently and doesn’t want to ‘pick on her’ for it, calling it ‘overkill.’
Cardi even mentioned that during BIA’s album release week, she had consciously decided not to speak negatively about her, understanding the immense pressure and stress artists face during such a crucial time. It’s a surprisingly measured response given their recent public exchanges.
BIA’s Perspective on Their Relationship
However, the olive branch doesn’t seem to be accepted by BIA. In a recent interview with Hot 97, BIA expressed that she has no desire to reconcile or be friends with Cardi B. She stated, “I don’t care to be friends with people that are like that.”
BIA elaborated on her stance, explaining her aversion to individuals who record private conversations and manipulate narratives to sell music. Her focus, she says, is on positive contributions: philanthropy, creating great music, connecting with fans, and moving forward with integrity.
Looking Ahead
While Cardi B is choosing to rise above the fray regarding album sales, BIA remains firm in her position. It appears this particular hip-hop dynamic is far from over, even if one party is opting for a more peaceful approach.
