It seems Cardi B is ready to address the recent drama surrounding her rap peers, BIA and JT. After a period of relative quiet, Cardi unleashed her sophomore album, “AM I THE DRAMA?,” which notably featured diss tracks aimed at both artists. Now, she’s sharing her thoughts on their latest moves, including BIA’s debut album performance and JT’s diss records.
Weighing In on BIA’s Debut
BIA recently dropped her debut album, “BIANCA,” on October 10th. Unfortunately, the project didn’t quite hit the mark commercially, selling only 8,000 copies in its first week and failing to chart on the Billboard Hot 200. While this might seem like easy fodder for a diss track, Cardi B feels that piling on BIA for her album’s performance would be ‘overkill.’
Cardi B stated in an audio clip captured by Live Bitez that she prefers not to kick someone when they’re down. Despite the lyrical jabs she’s already thrown, she seems to believe that further criticism regarding sales figures would be excessive.
Addressing JT’s Diss Tracks
JT, from the City Girls, has also been active, releasing back-to-back diss tracks, “No Hook” and “Keep Coming,” on October 4th. While these tracks certainly brought the heat, Cardi B isn’t rushing to respond immediately. She indicated that she plans to reply ‘on my time,’ suggesting a strategic approach to her clapbacks.
Cardi B expressed confidence in her abilities, stating, ‘I’ma have you feeling sleeping, like you tucked. But it’s not because I can’t flame you— B*tch you don’t look better than me in nothing.’ She added, ‘You can’t rap better than me, you don’t look better than me, you can’t do nothing better than me. I’m gonna let you think you have that.’
A Strategic Hibernation
Cardi B mentioned that after releasing her album and addressing her detractors, she plans to go back into ‘hibernation mode.’ This strategic pause, she suggests, is part of a larger plan to eventually return with even more impact. It seems she’s playing the long game, choosing her moments to strike.
Fans can anticipate a visual for her diss track “Pretty & Petty” soon, which might be the first taste of her comeback. She had briefly delayed its release due to BIA’s stressful album debut, but it seems the visuals are back on track.
What are your thoughts on Cardi B’s approach to this rap beef? Do you think she’s playing it smart by waiting to respond? Let us know in the comments!
