Audi Renews MLS Partnership Ahead of World Cup

Get ready for more Audi at the soccer pitch! The automaker and Major League Soccer (MLS) have officially inked a deal to extend their long-standing partnership, ensuring Audi remains a major presence across the league’s biggest moments. This renewal comes at a pivotal time as soccer in the U.S. gears up for the massive spotlight of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

A Decade of Partnership, Now Extended

Audi and MLS have been partners for a decade, and they’re making it official official with another multi-year commitment. The automaker announced the renewal, reinforcing its dedication to American soccer just as the sport is poised for unprecedented growth in the United States. This isn’t just about the playoffs anymore; Audi is expanding its role.

Under the renewed agreement, Audi will continue as the league’s Official Automotive Partner and the title sponsor of the playoffs. But they’re also stepping into new territory by becoming the presenting sponsor of the MLS All-Star Game and the Team of the Matchday digital series. This means Audi’s brand will be visible throughout the entire season, not just during the postseason push.

Capitalizing on Soccer’s Growing Momentum

With MLS celebrating its 30th season and the 2026 World Cup set to take place in North America, the timing for this extended partnership couldn’t be more perfect. Soccer’s popularity in the U.S. has been on a steady rise, particularly attracting younger and more diverse demographics. Audi is clearly aiming to be a significant part of this expansion, recognizing the growing engagement from Black audiences who are increasingly embracing the sport and its culture.

Daniel Weissland, president of Audi of America, stated, “Audi has a longstanding commitment to soccer globally and we’re proud to extend that commitment in the U.S. through our continued partnership with MLS.” He added that the collaboration allows them to connect with a new generation of fans who are “driven, passionate, and diverse.”

More Than Just a Sponsorship

To celebrate the renewal, Audi has launched a new commercial titled ‘The Assist.’ The 30-second spot features their powerful RS e-tron GT performance vehicle alongside MLS talent and is set to debut during the Wild Card playoff matches, airing exclusively on Apple TV through the MLS Cup final. This showcases Audi’s commitment to performance, both on the road and on the pitch.

MLS Commissioner Don Garber highlighted that Audi is more than just a sponsor; they’re a ‘true partner in building MLS.’ He emphasized shared values of performance, innovation, and community impact, underscoring the collaborative nature of their relationship.

Local Connections and Fan Engagement

Audi’s involvement goes beyond the league-wide partnership. They have local deals with seven MLS clubs, including Inter Miami CF and D.C. United, and even hold the naming rights to Audi Field in Washington, D.C. For fans looking to bring their matchday energy into their daily lives, Audi also offers MLS-branded themes for certain vehicle models, allowing owners to customize their car’s touchscreen with league-inspired wallpapers.

As soccer continues to build momentum across North America, especially with young Black fans finding more representation in the sport, Audi’s strategic investment positions them to be a key player in this evolving landscape. The coming years will certainly be interesting to watch as this partnership unfolds.
