Gucci Mane Regrets 2013 Rant Against Drake, Nicki Minaj

Remember that wild Twitter spree Gucci Mane went on back in 2013, calling out pretty much everyone in the rap game? Well, the trap icon is opening up about it, and he’s feeling pretty remorseful. As he promotes his new album and memoir, “Episodes,” some old memories have resurfaced, and he’s not exactly proud of them.

Embarrassed by Past Words

Gucci Mane recently sat down with The Breakfast Club and admitted he was “super embarrassed and hurt” by the things he said during that 2013 rant. He explained that he was going through a severe mental health episode at the time, which clearly impacted his behavior.

The rapper, who was also dealing with legal troubles and eventually went to prison, worried about how his words would affect his relationships with artists like Drake, Nicki Minaj, and Rick Ross. He waited until he was released from prison three years later to try and mend fences.

Making Amends with Fellow Artists

Thankfully, his apologies were well-received. “I apologized to Ross, Drake, Nicki,” Gucci shared, adding that it felt like “a weight off my shoulders” when they accepted his apologies. He specifically recalled texting Drake to apologize for saying “some bullsh*t” during his episode, and Drake’s understanding response: “Man, you know, we gon’ get past that. Brothers go through stuff.”

He expressed gratitude that many people were receptive and willing to move past the incident, acknowledging that some might not have been. It’s a testament to the resilience of relationships in the music industry.

The “Episodes” Project

This reflection comes as Gucci Mane is promoting his latest creative works. His album “Episodes” dropped on October 17th, featuring 23 tracks and collaborations with various artists. His memoir of the same name hit bookshelves on October 14th, offering fans a deeper look into his life and experiences.

  • Drake: Called a “male groupie” and “sissy.”
  • Rick Ross, Jeezy, Tip, Gotti, Waka Flocka, Nicki Minaj, and others were also targeted in the rant.

Looking back, it’s clear Gucci Mane has grown and learned from his past. His willingness to address and apologize for his actions, especially during a difficult period, shows a significant personal evolution. It’s inspiring to see him in a better place, both personally and professionally.
