Turkey Leg Hut Owner Arrested for Aiding Kidnapping Suspect

Well, it seems like trouble just keeps finding the owner of Houston’s infamous Turkey Leg Hut. Nakia Holmes, who was already dealing with the fallout from her restaurant’s closure, is now facing serious criminal charges. This time, it’s not about health code violations or lease disputes, but something much more severe: allegedly aiding a kidnapping suspect.

The Charges: Hindering an Arrest

On Wednesday, Holmes was arrested by Harris County police and charged with hindering the arrest of Johnathan Saizon, who is accused of aggravated kidnapping. According to court documents, Saizon was apprehended while allegedly trying to flee from Holmes’ residence. This situation adds a whole new layer of drama to the already controversial figure.

A Disturbing Allegation of Abuse

The case stems from a harrowing incident reported by Saizon’s ex-girlfriend. She claims Saizon came to her home to collect belongings, but instead held her captive for six hours, brutally assaulting her. The victim stated he beat her with a tire iron and forced her into his car, only releasing her after she promised not to contact the police. Her injuries were severe, including facial lacerations, staples in her head, and stitches on her toes from biting.

Holmes’ Alleged Involvement

Authorities suspect that Holmes was harboring Saizon in her home. When officers initially stopped her as she was leaving her house, she reportedly denied knowing Saizon. However, the investigation continued, and officers were soon alerted that Saizon was attempting to escape from Holmes’ property by climbing over the back fence. Both Holmes and Saizon were subsequently arrested.

A History of Controversy

This isn’t the first time Nakia Holmes has been in the headlines for negative reasons. Turkey Leg Hut, once a popular Houston hotspot, closed its doors indefinitely in November 2024 after its lease was terminated. Prior to that, the restaurant faced numerous challenges, including a Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing in March 2024 and a closure due to 35 health code violations. The business also faced significant lawsuits for outstanding debts.

Related Legal Troubles

Adding to the complex web of legal issues, Holmes’ ex-husband and former business partner, Lyndell Price, is also entangled in a federal arson case. He’s accused of orchestrating a fire at another restaurant, Bar 5015, which was owned by a former business associate. Investigators are also reportedly looking into a potential arson case involving Turkey Leg Hut’s office from April 2024.
