Paris Jackson Received $65M From Michael Jackson’s Estate

There’s been a lot of talk surrounding the management of Michael Jackson’s estate, especially after his daughter, Paris Jackson, raised questions about payments made to law firms. Now, the executors of the King of Pop’s estate have responded, revealing just how much Paris herself has benefited from their business acumen.

A Significant Sum Revealed

In a court filing on October 9th, the estate’s executors disclosed that Paris Jackson has received approximately $65 million in benefits. This information came as part of their motion to counter Paris’s legal challenge regarding the estate’s management and transparency, as reported by People.

The executors highlighted that Paris remains one of the primary beneficiaries. They stated in the filing, “Few have benefited more from the Executors’ business judgment than Petitioner herself, who has received roughly $65 million from the Estate in benefits.” They emphasized that she wouldn’t have received this amount if a more conventional approach had been taken with the estate since Michael Jackson’s death in July 2009.

Estate Transformed from Debt to Empire

The executors also pointed out the dramatic transformation of the estate under their stewardship. At the time of Michael Jackson’s passing, the estate was reportedly $500 million in debt. Today, they claim it has become a thriving “$2 billion estate” and a dominant force in the music industry.

This financial turnaround, they argue, is thanks to their strategic business decisions, including significant returns from investments like the EMI music company, which generated over $287 million. These outcomes, they assert, were instrumental in achieving unprecedented results for the estate.

Paris’s Challenge and the Executors’ Defense

Paris, now 27, had previously filed a petition challenging $625,000 in payments made to three law firms in 2018, which she described as “gifts” and “gratuities” for “uncaptured time.” The executors’ recent motion defended these payments, stating they were for “extraordinary services and results” that were crucial to the estate’s success. Jonathan Steinsapir, an attorney for the estate, added that these payments were consistent with long-standing practices and had received court approval.
