Killer Mike, J.I.D., Sleepy Brown to Induct OutKast into Rock Hall

OutKast, the legendary Atlanta hip-hop duo, is set to receive one of music’s highest honors: induction into the 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The momentous occasion on November 8th at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles will be made even more special with fellow Atlanta artists Killer Mike, J.I.D., and Sleepy Brown taking the stage to cement their legacy.

Atlanta’s Finest Unite for OutKast

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame officially announced that these three prominent artists will be present for the ceremony, with language suggesting they may also perform. Each artist shares a unique and deep connection to OutKast’s music and influence. Killer Mike, a fellow Dungeon Family member, has collaborated with OutKast on albums like ‘Stankonia’ and ‘Speakerboxxx/The Love Below.’ J.I.D. has cited OutKast as a major influence and has worked with Big Boi, while Sleepy Brown was instrumental in crafting OutKast’s iconic sound, contributing to albums such as ‘ATLiens’ and ‘Aquemini.’

A Stellar Induction Class

OutKast joins a distinguished group of inductees for 2025, including Salt-N-Pepa, The White Stripes, Bad Company, Chubby Checker, Cyndi Lauper, Joe Cocker, Soundgarden, Warren Zevon, Thom Bell, Nicky Hopkins, Carol Kaye, and Lenny Waronker. This induction marks OutKast as the 13th hip-hop act to be recognized by the prestigious club, joining the ranks of other influential artists like JAY-Z, The Notorious B.I.G., 2Pac, Eminem, Missy Elliott, and A Tribe Called Quest.

The induction ceremony will be streamed live on Disney+, offering fans a chance to witness this historic moment. While OutKast members Big Boi and André 3000 have focused on solo projects in recent years – with Big Boi collaborating with Sleepy Brown and André 3000 releasing his flute album ‘New Blue Sun’ and the EP ‘7 Piano Sketches’ – their collective impact remains undeniable.
