Young Ghost & Tommy Cast for ‘Power: Origins’

Get ready to dive back into the gritty streets of New York City! STARZ has officially announced the casting for its highly anticipated ‘Power: Origins’ prequel series, and we finally know who will be stepping into the iconic roles of young James “Ghost” St. Patrick and Tommy Egan. This 18-episode series promises to explore the early days of these fan-favorite characters before the betrayals and bloody finales we know so well.

Meet the New Ghost and Tommy

Spence Moore II, known for his roles in ‘Creed III’ and ‘Brilliant Minds,’ is set to embody the younger James “Ghost” St. Patrick. Alongside him, Charlie Mann, who has appeared in ‘The Watchers’ and ‘Virdee,’ will take on the role of Tommy Egan, Ghost’s ambitious right-hand man. These talented actors will be stepping into the shoes of Omari Hardwick and Joseph Sikora, who originated the characters in the original ‘Power’ series.

The prequel is set to explore the origin stories of Ghost and Tommy as they rise as young entrepreneurs in New York City. A press release teases a “fun, rambunctious exploration of a new time period in the Power franchise,” highlighting the “unbridled audacity of young men, not just leveling up, but determined to become legends in the game.”

Expanding the Power Universe

Adding to the excitement, MeKai Curtis (‘Power Book III: Raising Kanan’) is confirmed to reprise his role as Kanan Stark. This marks the fourth spinoff in the massively popular ‘Power’ franchise, following ‘Power Book II: Ghost,’ ‘Power Book III: Raising Kanan,’ and ‘Power Book IV: Force.’ Fans can look forward to the third and final season of ‘Force’ premiering on November 7.

Sascha Penn is on board as showrunner and executive producer for ‘Power: Origins,’ with a pilot co-written by Courtney A. Kemp and Penn himself. The series is executive produced by original ‘Power’ creator Courtney Kemp, Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson (through G-Unit Film and Television), and Mark Canton (through Canton Entertainment), along with Chris Selak and Pete Chatmon. Lionsgate will produce the series for STARZ.

With the casting finalized and the creative team in place, ‘Power: Origins’ is poised to offer fans a fresh perspective on the universe they love. It promises to delve into the ambition, the risks, and the foundational moments that shaped Ghost and Tommy into the figures they would eventually become.
