Pregnancy is often described as a beautiful journey, but it’s also full of unexpected twists and turns. For ‘Love Is Blind’ star Lauren Speed-Hamilton, who is just weeks away from welcoming her baby boy, one of the most surprising aspects has been the sheer inability to breathe properly! “How come we don’t talk about how you can’t breathe?” she shared with a laugh.
Unexpected Pregnancy Challenges
While Lauren anticipated extreme tiredness and heartburn, the level of congestion she’s experiencing has been a real shock. Despite these challenges, she views every symptom as a small price to pay for the immense blessing of carrying her child. “It’s all a blessing,” she stated, emphasizing that the difficulties are worth it as her “sacrifice for my baby boy.”
Lauren and her husband, Cameron Hamilton, first captured hearts on Season 1 of Netflix’s ‘Love Is Blind’ in 2018. Their journey from meeting sight unseen to walking down the aisle has resonated with fans, who have followed their life through their YouTube channel and podcast, ‘The Love Seat’.
A Long-Awaited Blessing
The couple’s path to parenthood hasn’t been easy. They openly shared their challenging years-long journey with in vitro fertilization (IVF) on their podcast. This shared struggle, however, only deepened their bond. “It has made us feel more connected. I think we support each other, we’re more in tune now,” Lauren shared previously. “I feel like in marriage, or any type of relationship, when you go through something that’s big and heavy or weighs on your heart, it creates a bond.”
Their perseverance paid off, and they joyfully announced their pregnancy in May, just months after discussing their IVF journey. Having tried for over four years, Lauren expressed immense gratitude: “So the fact that we’re here right now is a blessing. I don’t have any real complaints.”
Memorable Moments and Boundary Setting
The pregnancy has already been filled with memorable moments, including a heartwarming encounter with Tina Knowles at the ‘Cowboy Carter Tour.’ Lauren described the iconic matriarch as “so sweet and so nice and so down to Earth,” sharing how Miss Tina blessed her belly and offered encouragement. “We’ll have so many stories to tell him, you know, once he’s here.”
The couple also sparked an important conversation about personal boundaries when Cameron posted a PSA advising against touching a pregnant person’s belly without permission. While clarifying that friends and family who ask are welcome, they emphasized the importance of respecting personal space – a message that resonated widely.
Partnering with Pampers
As they gear up for their son’s arrival, Lauren and Cameron have partnered with Pampers for their new “Behind Every Baby” campaign. Cameron, who was a Pampers baby himself, is excited to continue the tradition. “They’re behind every baby, they’ve been around for so long, and they’re a trusted brand,” he noted, appreciating the brand’s reliability for new parents navigating countless choices.
With the waddle setting in and clothes no longer fitting, Lauren is ready for the final stage. “I’m ready at this point because I’m getting tired [of being pregnant],” she admitted. “I’ve got the waddle going on, my clothes don’t fit, my shoes don’t fit anymore. I’m just excited to hold him and see him and hear him laugh and cry.”
