Megan Thee Stallion Seeks Sanctions Against Tory Lanez’s Friend

Even though the legal proceedings for the shooting case involving Megan Thee Stallion and Tory Lanez concluded nearly three years ago, the aftermath continues. While Tory Lanez maintains his innocence and seeks to overturn his prison sentence, Megan Thee Stallion is focused on combating defamation and protecting her reputation. Her latest move involves seeking sanctions against Tory Lanez’s friend, Caesar McDowell, for allegedly disrespectful conduct during a deposition.

Allegations of Disrespectful Deposition Conduct

Megan Thee Stallion has filed a motion to sanction Caesar McDowell, who runs the Unite The People legal organization and is accused of relaying messages between Tory Lanez and blogger Milagro Gramz. According to Megan’s legal team, McDowell’s deposition in July was “utterly disrespectful, uncivil and antagonistic.” They claim he refused to answer most questions, feigned ignorance, sparked a joint, insulted an attorney, and walked out of the deposition.

Attorneys reportedly wrote that McDowell’s conduct “shocked the conscience and made a mockery of this court’s authority.” This behavior may remind some of Tory Lanez’s own deposition sanctions for similar disrespectful actions. Megan alleges that Gramz, with whom McDowell is accused of coordinating, was paid to spread misinformation about the case to defame her.

Coordinated Evasion and Re-Deposition

Megan’s legal team claims that McDowell, along with others like DJ Akademiks and Mr. Peterson, employed a strategy of “systematic evasion” when discovery threatened to reveal their coordination. They argue that this “synchronized obstruction” indicates a coordinated effort to shield their alleged defamation campaign from scrutiny and prevent Megan from obtaining evidence of damages.

In response to these allegations, the judge has ordered McDowell to undergo a re-deposition under court supervision. A hearing is scheduled for September 5th to discuss potential financial sanctions against him, ahead of the Milagro Gramz trial in Miami this November. This development underscores the ongoing legal battles stemming from the highly publicized case.
