Tiffany Haddish is finally setting the record straight on those persistent rumors about welcoming a baby with her friend, Hollywood Unlocked founder Jason Lee. During her week-long guest hosting stint on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Tuesday, August 19, Haddish addressed the speculation head-on, playfully clarifying the situation that had fans buzzing.
Clearing the Air on the ‘Cats Out the Bag’ Post
The confusion began a few weeks prior when Haddish posted a picture with Lee, holding a baby, and captioned it “Cats out of the bag.” This post, clearly intended to stir some drama, led to widespread speculation that Haddish had secretly welcomed a child. Even her own family members, who live with her, started asking if she had a secret baby, which she found “insulting.”
During her monologue, Haddish addressed the situation directly: “There is a personal matter I feel must be addressed… Two weeks ago, I put something on the Instagram that made everyone go a little crazy. It was a picture of me and my friend Jason Lee posing with the baby and the caption, ‘Cats out of the bag.’” She humorously added, “For some reason, people saw this and thought I had a baby.”
A Godbaby and Playful Teasing
When Haddish asked Lee, who was present in the audience, about the rumors, he also played coy. “The whole world has lost their mind over this beautiful baby,” Lee remarked, with Haddish chiming in, “We just took a picture with a baby and then that went crazy so now we got a godbaby.”
Haddish then playfully teased Lee, “Jason, the offer still is on the table if you want to make a real baby together… You know I’m traditional.” Lee responded, “And I’m still gay,” to which Haddish clarified, “So just to be clear, I did not have a baby, but I am open to it… Wide open to it.”
