In a heartwarming display of community spirit, Houston’s own DJ Chose and DJ XO recently visited a local Kroger supermarket to lend their support to Helping Heroes Staffing, a unique agency dedicated to providing meaningful employment for individuals with special needs.
A Day of Purpose at Kroger
On Friday, August 15, 2025, the Kroger on West 43rd Street in Houston became a hub of positivity. It marked the first day of work for the employees of Helping Heroes Staffing, also known as the “Heroes.” As CEO Roderick Batson and his team greeted customers, they received an unexpected and uplifting surprise visit from the acclaimed DJs.
The visit was particularly special for employees Santiago Molina and Daniel Yante, both of whom have autism. DJ Chose and DJ XO congratulated them on their new roles and spent time assisting them in marketing products to shoppers. Their presence transformed an ordinary workday into a memorable occasion filled with collective joy.
Giving Back from the Heart
For DJ Chose, the decision to participate stemmed from a personal philosophy of giving back. He described the experience as “amazing,” explaining that while he doesn’t have direct professional ties to the special needs community, he has family members who are in similar situations. This visit was an opportunity to contribute purely out of kindness.
“It was just my chance to actually do something that wasn’t for my benefit. It was like, I’m just doing it because it’s the right thing to do,” Chose told BOSSIP. He views such selfless acts as a powerful life strategy, emphasizing the importance of gratitude as the “cheat code” to blessings.
The Power of Kindness
The rapper and producer added that giving from the heart yields immeasurable rewards. “It’s something about just doing something by the kindness of your heart that always comes back tenfold,” he shared. The event highlighted the positive impact that community figures can have by simply showing up and offering support.
