  • HelloBeautiful x MadameNoire Celebrate ‘Women To Know’

In the heart of New York City, amidst an overcast Wednesday, HelloBeautiful and MadameNoire came together to host their highly anticipated 2026 ‘Women To Know’ Breakfast. This special event honored three remarkable women – Danessa Myricks, Janell Stephens, and Ashunta Sheriff – for their significant contributions and inspiring journeys.

    A Garden of Sophistication

The EDITION Hotel in Times Square was transformed into a lush oasis, adorned with intricate foliage that set a beautiful scene for the celebration. Beauty editors, influencers, tastemakers, and industry insiders gathered, dressed in stunning garden-chic attire, embracing flowy dresses, pastels, and vibrant spring colors as per the dress code. The atmosphere was filled with warmth, inspiration, and the clinking of glasses featuring custom ‘Women To Know’ ice cubes.

The event, generously sponsored by Juvia’s Place, kicked off with opening remarks from Cliché Wynter-Mayo, Director of Sponsor & Affiliate Content, and Allison McGevna, SVP of Content at iOneDigital. Attendees were welcomed with Juvia’s Place products and deluxe gift bags, along with a fun ‘beauty confessional’ photo booth created by Renae Bluitt.

    Honoring Trailblazing Women

Each honoree received a heartfelt introduction and acceptance speech. Krystal Holmes, Senior Editorial Project Manager, introduced Danessa Myricks, who accepted her award with humility. MadameNoire’s Managing Editor, Danica Daniels, then introduced Ashunta Sheriff, who was accompanied by her mother. Finally, HB’s Editorial Director, Shamika Sanders, presented Janell Stephens with her bouquet.

Shamika Sanders also returned to present Chi Chi Ebiru, the founder of Juvia’s Place, with flowers, acknowledging their crucial sponsorship for the event. The breakfast served as a powerful reminder of the impact these women are making in their respective fields and beyond.

A Celebration of Sisterhood and Success

The event was a beautiful display of sisterhood and shared success, with attendees sharing photos and celebrating the achievements of the ‘Women To Know’ class of 2026. The recap photos showcase the stylish attendees and the vibrant atmosphere of the morning.

  • 2026 Met Gala: Themes, Co-Chairs, and Controversy

Mark your calendars! The Met Gala, often called the “Super Bowl of fashion,” is just around the corner, and this year promises to be a spectacular event. On May 4th, the fashion elite will gather at the Metropolitan Museum of Art to celebrate the intersection of art and fashion. HelloBeautiful is thrilled to announce we’ll be reporting live from the red carpet for the second year in a row, bringing you all the exclusive, in-the-moment updates!

This year’s event is set to explore the fascinating themes of ‘Costume Art’ and ‘Fashion Is Art.’ The accompanying exhibition, running from May 10, 2026, to January 10, 2027, will delve into various “thematic body types.” This includes not only traditional forms like the ‘Naked Body’ and ‘Classical Body’ but also often-overlooked representations such as the ‘Pregnant Body’ and the ‘Aging Body,’ showcasing a diverse range of human forms.

    Beyoncé Returns as Co-Chair

Get ready, because Queen Bey is back! Beyoncé is set to make a triumphant return to the Met Gala, not just as a guest, but as a co-chair. She’ll be sharing the prestigious role with fashion icon Anna Wintour, acclaimed actress Nicole Kidman, and tennis legend Venus Williams. This marks Beyoncé’s first appearance since a 10-year hiatus, making her return even more highly anticipated.

The Gala Host Committee is packed with stars, including Sabrina Carpenter, Doja Cat, Gwendoline Christie, Misty Copeland, Sam Smith, Teyana Taylor, and many more. Newly announced members like Adut Akech and Angela Bassett further solidify the star-studded lineup for this year’s event.

    Controversy Surrounds Lead Sponsor

However, the 2026 Met Gala isn’t without its controversies. A significant number of people are calling for a boycott due to billionaire Jeff Bezos being announced as the lead sponsor. A press release from the Met confirmed that “The exhibition and benefit are made possible by Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez Bezos.”

This sponsorship has sparked debate, with some questioning the alignment of the event’s artistic focus with its financial backing. Even the Mayor of NYC, Mamdani, has opted out of attending, stating a preference to focus on more pressing city issues like “affordability.”
