It looks like the drama on The Real Housewives of Orange County isn’t just confined to the screen! Former star Vicki Gunvalson is back, and she’s got some thoughts on current cast member Heather Dubrow. According to Vicki, Heather just doesn’t quite fit the Orange County mold anymore.
Vicki’s Take on Heather’s Fit
During an appearance on the ‘My Friend, My Soulmate, My Podcast,’ Vicki didn’t hold back. She suggested that Bravo might want to reconsider Heather’s contract renewal. Vicki’s main point? Heather’s perceived liberal political leanings clash with the conservative nature of Orange County.
‘She does not fit into Orange County. She’s very liberal. Orange County is a Republican conservative county,’ Vicki stated, adding that she knows this from speaking with locals. She even suggested Heather might be a better fit for a different franchise, like The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
Beyond Politics: Lifestyle Differences?
Vicki also touched on potential lifestyle differences, noting that while she doesn’t personally share her political views openly, it’s ‘very clear’ where Heather and her husband, Terry Dubrow, stand. She denied any jealousy, stating, ‘I don’t resent anything that they have built and have and inherited.’
However, she elaborated on the perceived disconnect, mentioning the significant difference in home values. ‘Your house values are one million to five million in Orange County. Hers is like 50 million. It’s hard to break bread with that,’ Vicki explained. She feels Heather might not fully understand or appreciate the realities of those living in more modest (though still expensive!) homes.
A Call for a ‘Pause’?
Ultimately, Vicki’s suggestion is for Bravo to consider putting a ‘pause’ on Heather’s role in the show. It’s clear that even after leaving the show, Vicki Gunvalson remains a vocal commentator on the Real Housewives universe, especially when it comes to her former stomping grounds.
Do you agree with Vicki Gunvalson that Heather Dubrow doesn’t fit the RHOC vibe? Or do you think political and lifestyle differences don’t matter for the show? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
