  • ExcelerateHer 2026: Miami Nights Fashion & Empowerment

The fourth annual ExcelerateHer summit kicked off in Miami with a dazzling “Miami After Dark: Luxe Loungewear Edition” theme, celebrating women in business, leadership, and culture. Founded by marketing executive Kimberly Blackwell, this event is more than just a conference; it’s a vibrant space designed for connection, growth, and empowerment.

A Fusion of Fashion, Business, and Community

The summit emphasizes the power of collaboration, community, and access, providing essential tools, mentorship, and networking opportunities for attendees to scale their businesses and amplify their influence.

Reflecting founder Kim Blackwell’s keen sense of style, the event featured themed evenings that encouraged attendees to express themselves through fashion. This year’s kickoff embraced Miami’s vibrant spirit with a focus on elevated loungewear – think luxurious silk pajama sets, flowing satin slips, chic tailored robes, and statement dusters. The goal was to blend comfort with sophistication, proving that intentional styling can make loungewear just as impactful as traditional evening attire.

    Miami Nights: Style and Substance

Guests embraced the theme with monochromatic satin sets in rich hues, airy printed co-ords, and shimmering slip dresses. The focus was on textures that moved – silk, charmeuse, and lightweight fabrics that perfectly captured the warm Miami night. Accessories were kept minimal yet intentional, allowing the fluidity and silhouette of the garments to shine.

The evening was a testament to the power of presence and purpose. Attendees showed up ready to connect, celebrate, and engage, embodying the core mission of ExcelerateHer: creating spaces where women can build, collaborate, and excel together. The event buzzed with energy, fostering an environment of shared ambition and mutual support.

  • Philip Bloch’s NYFW: Fashion with a Purpose

Fashion is more than just clothes; it’s a statement. Philip Bloch, a true fashion icon, is proving this with his visionary label, ‘Omniscient Things.’ This year at New York Fashion Week, Bloch didn’t just showcase stunning designs; he used his platform to deliver powerful messages of unity and hope, making style accessible and meaningful for everyone.

From Airport Runways to Studio Statements

Bloch kicked off NYFW with an unforgettable flash fashion show at LaGuardia Airport’s Terminal 2. Imagine models descending escalators and weaving through the luggage area, all while a violinist set a sophisticated mood. He masterfully blended travel wear with high fashion, proving that even amidst the hustle of an international airport, chic attire is possible. This unique approach transformed a public space into a global runway.

The craftsmanship of the ‘Omniscient Things’ collection was evident in every piece. Bloch incorporated intricate details like beaded fringe and studs onto luxurious fabrics, creating statement sweaters that captivated travelers. But his vision extended beyond just luxurious materials; he wanted to convey a deeper purpose.

Fashion as a Force for Unity

For his second NYFW presentation at Baci Studio, Bloch focused on unity and hope in a politically charged climate. As a longtime advocate for inclusion and a former fashion editor for Vibe magazine, Bloch has always been attuned to social issues. He used his designs to amplify messages of justice and togetherness, a theme that resonated deeply.

The runway show featured models carrying signs with inspiring quotes from influential figures like Queen Elizabeth II, emphasizing messages of neighborliness and acceptance. Bloch also made a powerful statement by inviting his friend, CNN contributor Judge Glenda Hatchett, to open the show. She wore a tribute T-shirt honoring Renee Good, an American woman tragically killed by ICE, highlighting the intersection of law, rights, and fashion.

I was honored to participate in Philip’s fashion show during NYFW. It combines three things that are very important to me: the law, constitutional rights, and fashion. — Judge Glenda Hatchett

    A Collection with a Message

Bloch admitted to feeling creatively conflicted, torn between the harsh realities of social injustice and the task of presenting his collection. This internal struggle fueled the collection’s intentionality. Each garment, from a forest green cardigan with metallic floral fabric to intricate tweed pieces, was designed to provoke thought and convey a clear, courageous message that transcended the runway.

Philip Bloch continues to redefine impact in the fashion industry. His ability to weave purpose-driven narratives into beautiful, high-fashion designs challenges the status quo. In a pivotal time like now, his forward-thinking approach is exactly the catalyst for change fashion needs.
