  • NLE The Great Apologizes for Jesus Comments

Rapper NLE The Great, formerly known as NLE Choppa, is walking back some controversial statements he made about Jesus during a recent spiritual roundtable discussion. After facing significant backlash, the artist has apologized, admitting he “spoke out of turn” during the heated theological debate.

    The ‘Den Of Kings’ Controversy

The public discussion that sparked the apology took place on the spiritual roundtable show ‘Den Of Kings,’ hosted by Kirk Franklin. The episode featured a lineup including Dr. Jay Barnett, KevOnStage, Ray J, and actor Jonathan Majors. NLE the Great, who has recently embraced his faith, shared his interpretation of the Bible, expressing his view that some people “praise the son more than the father,” referring to Jesus Christ and God.

He argued, “If we are men made in the likeness, Jesus is our brother. Why would I drop down and praise my brother instead of praising my father?” This statement was quickly challenged by Jonathan Majors, who simply asked, “Have you read the Bible?” When NLE confirmed he had, Majors advised him to “read it again.”

From Social Media Spat to Public Apology

The suggestion that he needed to reread the Bible seemed to hit a nerve with NLE the Great. He initially took to social media, posting a now-deleted update with the caption “READ IT AGAIN” and sharing photos that suggested a disagreement with Majors. This public exchange highlighted the rapper’s strong convictions following his personal transformation and commitment to his faith.

This transformation has been significant. NLE the Great has fully dedicated his life to his faith, even symbolically shaving his head and changing his name from NLE Choppa. He shared a heartfelt letter to his past self, acknowledging the struggles of his journey and embracing a new chapter of restoration and devotion. “All praise be to Allah. Thank you, Bryson. Amen,” he wrote, signifying his deep spiritual commitment.

    Acknowledging the Misunderstanding

Despite his deeply held beliefs, NLE the Great later took to X (formerly Twitter) to issue a public apology for his comments. He stated, “There is power in the name of Jesus. I apologize deeply for the past misunderstanding in regards to my statements referring to the Lord. The Most High God wasn’t finished with me, and I spoke out of turn in the moment.”

He followed up his apology by sharing supporting Bible verses, including Matthew 12:49, John 20:17, and Hebrews 2:11, indicating a desire to further understand and respect theological interpretations within his faith journey.
