  • Spelman Offers College Courses to High Schoolers

Spelman College is extending its educational reach beyond its Atlanta campus, partnering with the National Education Opportunity Network (NEON) to offer college-credit courses to high school students. This initiative aims to provide college-level learning experiences to students, particularly those in underserved communities, who might not otherwise have the opportunity to engage with higher education.

    Expanding Access Through NEON

NEON, formerly known as the National Education Equity Lab, focuses on bringing credit-bearing college courses to Title I schools. The collaboration with Spelman College has already seen success, starting with “The Education of Black Girls,” taught by Andrea Lewis, Ph.D., in 2023. Following its successful run, the program has expanded to include “African Diaspora and the World,” taught by Chatee’ Omísade Richardson, Ph.D., which began in Fall 2025.

What started with 50 students has now grown to serve up to 300 high schoolers. Dr. Lewis expressed her enthusiasm for the program’s growth, stating, “The growth has been outstanding. To be able to offer a college-level course to high school students in underserved communities has been transformational.” She highlighted how this initiative elevates Spelman’s community-oriented mission and taps into the increasing interest high school students have in HBCUs.

    Promoting Educational Equity

Laura Moore, NEON’s chief higher education officer, emphasized the critical need for educational equity. “With 60 percent of NEON scholars identifying as female and 93 percent self-reporting as students of color, we are honored to not only bring rigorous courses but ones that have proven deeply impactful for our scholars,” Moore stated. This program directly addresses historical underrepresentation in higher education.

To date, the NEON initiative has reached 767 students across 47 high schools in 19 cities. Since its inception in 2019, NEON has connected prestigious institutions like Harvard, Stanford, and Spelman with over 25,000 students in 30 states. By offering its curriculum to high school students and reinforcing mentorship, Spelman and NEON are actively working to expand college readiness and awareness.

    Spelman’s Continued Growth

This partnership comes at a time when Spelman College is experiencing significant positive momentum. The institution recently received a substantial $38 million donation from philanthropist Mackenzie Scott. The college expressed gratitude for this generous gift, viewing it as an opportunity to enhance the student experience, modernize technology, and expand financial opportunities for its students.

  • YesJulz Denies LeBron James Affair Rumors

The persistent rumors linking social media personality YesJulz to NBA superstar LeBron James have been circulating for years. Now, YesJulz has decided to address them head-on, once and for all, during a recent livestream.

    Shutting Down the Rumors

During a livestream with Neon over the weekend, YesJulz was directly asked about the ongoing speculation. She firmly denied any romantic involvement with the Lakers star, stating clearly, “No, I never did.” Despite her direct answer, viewers continued to flood the chat with questions about the rumors.

YesJulz urged the audience to move past the topic, saying, “You got your LeBron question out of this. Let’s move forward. Thank you.” This isn’t the first time she’s had to debunk these claims, as the rumors have resurfaced periodically, most recently in January after she reacted enthusiastically to one of LeBron’s social media highlights.

    Public Reaction and NBA Updates

When a clip of the livestream was shared on Instagram, reactions were mixed. Some users made lighthearted jokes, while others speculated about NDAs and celebrity privacy. Meanwhile, the NBA season is underway, though LeBron James has been sidelined due to sciatica, with no clear timeline for his return. This absence has given other players, like Austin Reaves, a chance to shine, leading the Lakers to a 2-1 start.

The rumors about YesJulz and LeBron James have been a recurring topic, often reignited by social media interactions. However, YesJulz’s latest statement aims to put these speculations to rest definitively.

  • Iggy Azalea’s Viral Livestream Antics

It seems Iggy Azalea is no stranger to grabbing headlines, and her latest viral moment comes from a recent livestream with Neon. The Australian rapper’s antics on the stream have been circulating widely on social media, sparking a mix of reactions from fans.

    Suggestive Comments and Dancing

During the livestream, which appeared to involve casino games, Azalea made several sexually suggestive comments. At one point, she declared, “I’ll smack my butt if we win, only if we win.” She also treated Neon to a dance and engaged in other NSFW jokes, keeping the energy high.

Clips from the stream quickly spread, particularly after No Jumper shared them on Instagram. The comment section became a battleground of opinions, with some users accusing Azalea of “clout chasing” due to her perceived decline in rapping career, while others made lighthearted jokes about the situation.

    Business Partners, Not Romance?

This isn’t the first time Azalea and Neon have collaborated, and their partnerships have consistently generated viral moments. Despite the close interaction, Azalea has previously shut down rumors of a romantic connection. Back in September, she clarified their relationship, stating, “Well, yeah, he’s like, we’re like business partners now.”

    Stepping Away from Music

This viral moment comes as Azalea has been open about her decision to step away from her music career. In an interview with ABC News in August, she cited her son, Onyx, with Playboi Carti, as a major factor. She expressed a desire not to sacrifice her son’s life to the demands of a music career.

Azalea originally confirmed her departure from music in 2024, explaining on X (formerly Twitter) that her passion lies more in design and creative direction than songwriting. She laughed off the idea of being “bullied away from music,” emphasizing her stubborn nature and preference for creative pursuits beyond music production.

  • Dennis Rodman’s Advice to Neon: ‘Don’t Be Travis Hunter’

Dennis Rodman, never one to shy away from making headlines, recently dropped some interesting advice during a livestream with popular streamer Neon. When asked for words of wisdom for a 21-year-old, Rodman surprisingly brought up college football star Travis Hunter, telling Neon, “Don’t be Travis Hunter.” This comment immediately set social media ablaze with speculation.

What Did Rodman Mean by ‘Don’t Be Travis Hunter’?

The clip of Rodman’s statement quickly went viral, with many fans interpreting his words as a subtle jab, or ‘shade,’ at Travis Hunter. Some viewers speculated that Rodman’s comment might be related to Hunter’s personal life, specifically his relationship with his wife, Leanna Lenee. It’s wild how a few words can spark so much discussion!

Online reactions were mixed. Some fans saw Rodman as intentionally stirring up drama, with one Twitter user commenting, “Rodman been retired 20 years and still finding new beefs. Man woke up and chose chaos… Who else thinks he’s just farming headlines?” It seems Rodman still knows how to grab attention, even decades after his playing days.

Fans Defend and Criticize Rodman’s Remark

Others took a more critical stance, pointing out Rodman’s own personal history. One commenter noted, “Truthfully, Dennis has no room to talk. His kids don’t want anything to do with him. There’s nothing worse than that. You can be a great basketball player, fashion icon & trend setter, but if your kids don’t have/want a relationship with you, all that is vain in the end.” It’s a poignant reminder that personal relationships often outweigh public achievements.

However, not everyone was quick to criticize Rodman. Some fans actually defended his comment, expressing genuine concern for Travis Hunter and his situation. It’s clear that Rodman’s outspoken nature continues to spark conversation, whether it’s about sports, fashion, or personal advice.
