Actress Regina King is honoring her late son, Ian Alexander Jr., in a deeply personal and meaningful way. She has launched a new wine brand called ‘MianU,’ a tribute that celebrates their special bond and his passion for a unique type of wine.
A Tribute to Ian Alexander Jr.
The name ‘MianU,’ pronounced ‘me and you,’ is a direct nod to the connection King shared with her son. The brand’s philosophy centers on the idea that a strong bond requires two people. The inspiration for ‘MianU’ came from Ian himself, who introduced his mother to orange wine.
For those unfamiliar, orange wine is made by fermenting white grapes with their skins, giving it a distinctive depth, body, and an amber hue. The ‘MianU’ blend is a sophisticated mix of 75% Gewürztraminer and 25% Chardonnay.
More Than Just Wine: ‘Me & You’ Series
King isn’t stopping at just the wine. She’s also rolling out a three-episode series titled ‘Me & You.’ This series features intimate conversations and shared meals between King and her friends, offering a personal glimpse into her life and reflections.
The first episode of the ‘Me & You’ series is already available and features a heartfelt sit-down with journalist Robin Roberts. The ‘MianU’ wine is currently available for purchase through its official website.
