  • Mya: Why Marriage & Kids Weren’t Her Dream

Ever wondered if the traditional path of marriage and kids is the only way to a fulfilling life? Singer Mya is here to tell us that it’s absolutely not! In a recent candid conversation, she revealed that these milestones were never actually her personal aspirations, and she’s completely at peace with that.

    A Different Vision for Life

Chatting with Melyssa Ford on the “Hot and Bothered” podcast, Mya didn’t hold back. She explained that marriage and motherhood simply haven’t been her focus. “It’s not even my focus and it never has been,” she stated plainly.

Her perspective seems to be shaped by her own experiences, including her parents’ divorce. “The white wedding dress, I was very fearful of those things,” Mya admitted. This led her to channel her energy elsewhere, often finding an escape in her work.

    Finding Love and Fulfillment Differently

Mya also touched on the practicalities of her career. Being away “95% of the time” made her realize she couldn’t show up properly for a significant other. However, she’s found a deep sense of spiritual alignment and feels surrounded by love in many forms.

She’s not actively searching for a romantic partner, believing that love will find her when the time is right. “My life is full of love, and it comes in so many different forms,” she shared, emphasizing that her current life is already rich and complete.

    Personal Journeys Are Unique

While she’s open to the idea of partnership in the future, Mya reiterated that it wasn’t a childhood dream. “Did I desire it? No, not with what I’ve witnessed, and not with what I’ve been through,” she explained.

Her message to everyone is powerful: honor your own path. “Everyone is an individual… Live your life to the fullest, and whatever and however that looks, it’s not supposed to look the same,” Mya encouraged. It’s a great reminder that our life goals don’t have to mirror societal expectations.
