  • 12 Famous Brothers Dominating Entertainment

Happy National Brothers Day! Celebrated on May 24th, this day is the perfect excuse to shine a spotlight on the incredible male sibling duos and groups who have not only dominated the entertainment industry but also shown us the power of a strong bond. From music legends to comedy kings and sports superstars, these brothers have left an indelible mark.

    Musical Dynasties

The **Jacksons** are arguably one of the most famous musical families ever. Starting as the Jackson 5 with brothers Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon, and Michael, they took the world by storm with their Motown hits. Even after Jermaine and Randy joined later, and Michael pursued his legendary solo career, their impact on music is undeniable.

Another iconic musical group is the **Isley Brothers**. Originally a quartet of brothers – O’Kelly, Rudolph, Ronald, and Vernon – their soulful hits like “It’s Your Thing” and “Between The Sheets” have stood the test of time. Though Vernon tragically passed away, Ronald and Ernie continued to carry the Isley legacy, with Ernie and Ronald still performing today.

    Comedy Kings and Cinematic Talents

The **Murphy brothers**, Eddie and Charlie, brought endless laughter to audiences. Eddie, the younger of the two, rose to fame with his stand-up and iconic roles in films like ‘Beverly Hills Cop.’ Charlie, a veteran of the Navy, also found success in Hollywood, co-writing ‘Norbit’ with Eddie and starring in ‘The Chappelle Show.’ Their comedic genius was truly a gift.

The **Wayans Brothers** are a true entertainment powerhouse. With ten siblings in total, five brothers – Keenen Ivory, Dwyane, Damon, Shawn, and Marlon – have made significant contributions. Keenen Ivory created the groundbreaking sketch show ‘In Living Color,’ which launched many careers. Damon starred in ‘My Wife and Kids,’ while Shawn and Marlon became spoof comedy masters with the ‘Scary Movie’ franchise and their sitcom ‘The Wayans Bros.’

    Sports Stars and Screen Actors

The **Curry brothers**, Stephen and Seth, followed in their father Dell’s footsteps to become NBA stars. Stephen, a perennial MVP candidate with the Golden State Warriors, has achieved incredible success. Seth has also had a notable NBA career, even joining his brother on the Warriors in 2025.

Basketball runs deep in the **Ball family** too. Lonzo, LiAngelo, and LaMelo Ball have all made their mark on the sport. Lonzo, the eldest, has had a significant NBA career. LiAngelo has pivoted to music, signing with Def Jam Records, while LaMelo is a current star for the Charlotte Hornets.

Actors **Steve and Wood Harris** hail from Chicago and both found success in Hollywood. Steve is known for his roles in ‘The Practice’ and ‘BMF,’ while Wood gained recognition for his performances in ‘Remember the Titans’ and ‘The Wire.’

Brothers **Aldis and Edwin Hodge** have also built impressive acting careers. Edwin’s early TV dreams inspired Aldis, and both have appeared in notable projects like ‘Sesame Street,’ ‘Big Momma’s House,’ and various TV series like ‘SIX’ and ‘FBI: Most Wanted.’

The **Antetokounmpo brothers** – Giannis, Thanasis, and Alex – are making NBA history. Giannis and Thanasis, Nigerian-Greek stars, have both played for the Milwaukee Bucks. In a remarkable feat, Alex was drafted by the Bucks in 2025, marking the first time three brothers played on the same team.

Acting siblings **Cuba Gooding Jr. and Omar Gooding** have both graced the screen. Cuba won an Oscar for ‘Jerry Maguire’ after early roles in ‘Boyz ‘N the Hood.’ Omar hosted the Nickelodeon game show ‘Wild & Crazy Kids’ and starred in ‘Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper.’

    Sports Commentators and Comedic Collaborators

NFL legends **Sterling and Shannon Sharpe** share a powerful connection. Sterling, a Hall of Famer with the Green Bay Packers, had his career cut short by injury. Shannon, also a Hall of Famer, enjoyed a long career with the Denver Broncos and Baltimore Ravens, winning three Super Bowls before becoming a prominent sports commentator and podcast host.

Finally, the hilarious **Rock brothers**, Chris and Tony, have brought joy to millions. Chris, mentored by Eddie Murphy, became a comedy icon with ‘Saturday Night Live,’ Emmy-winning specials, and the beloved show ‘Everybody Hates Chris.’ Tony also carved out a career in entertainment, appearing in ‘Everybody Hates Chris’ and hosting game shows.

  • Shawn Wayans Fires Back at Aries Spears: ‘Idiot’ & ‘B*tch’

It looks like there’s some serious comedy beef brewing! Shawn Wayans has fired back at fellow comedian Aries Spears, calling him an “idiot” and a “b*tch” after Spears made some critical remarks about Shawn’s talent and perceived arrogance.

    The Comedy Clash Unfolds

The drama surfaced while Shawn and his brother Marlon Wayans were doing press for their latest film, “Scary Movie 6.” During an interview on “The Morning Hustle,” Spears’s past comments about Shawn were brought up. Shawn, who admits he’s not heavily on social media, stated that his brother Marlon would usually be the one to inform him about such things.

When prompted about Spears’s criticisms, Shawn didn’t hold back. “Oh, he’s an idiot. And a b*tch,” Shawn declared. This strong reaction comes after Spears had previously told VladTV that Shawn wouldn’t make eye contact and called him “arrogant,” suggesting his ego didn’t match his talent level.

    From Collaboration to Criticism

Shawn reflected on the situation, noting that while he didn’t initially retaliate, he felt compelled to respond now. “Now that you bring it up, he’s a b*tch for that,” Shawn stated. He revealed that Spears had previously sought opportunities with the Wayans brothers, even appearing on their cartoon show “The Boo Crew.” Shawn added that he realized Spears’s behavior was “crazy” after that experience.

Adding fuel to the fire, both Shawn and Marlon mentioned witnessing Spears getting into altercations in the past. Marlon also expressed frustration with DJ Vlad for bringing up the topic, questioning why Spears was given a platform to comment on their interactions.

    Key Points of the Beef:

    • Aries Spears called Shawn Wayans “arrogant” and a “diva.”
    • Shawn Wayans responded by calling Spears an “idiot” and a “b*tch.”
    • Shawn claims Spears previously sought opportunities with the Wayans brothers.
    • The Wayans brothers mentioned witnessing Spears in physical altercations.
    • The feud is ongoing amidst the press tour for “Scary Movie 6.”

It’s clear the Wayans brothers aren’t taking Spears’s comments lightly. We can only imagine what Aries Spears’s reaction will be to these latest remarks!

  • Wayans Brothers on Hinchcliffe’s George Floyd Joke

The comedy world is still buzzing about Tony Hinchcliffe’s controversial George Floyd joke during the Kevin Hart roast. Now, comedy legends Shawn and Marlon Wayans are sharing their thoughts on the incident, offering a nuanced take on pushing boundaries in stand-up.

    The Art of Edgy Comedy

Speaking with Hollywood Unlocked, the Wayans brothers acknowledged that edgy material has always been a staple of stand-up comedy. However, they stressed that when tackling sensitive subjects like the tragic death of George Floyd, comedians must ensure the punchline is strong enough to justify the offense.

“You’re supposed to take it there,” Shawn Wayans stated, implying that comedians shouldn’t shy away from difficult topics. Marlon Wayans agreed but added a crucial caveat: “You gotta understand, if you take it there, and you go there, and you get that ‘Ooooooh,’ you better make sure the laugh is worth the offense.” He emphasized that if the audience doesn’t laugh, the joke can quickly backfire.

    Was the Joke Funny Enough?

Ultimately, the Wayans brothers felt Hinchcliffe’s joke missed the mark. “It just wasn’t funny enough, and in this case it’s too sensitive, and he didn’t find the right joke,” Marlon explained. He proposed a benchmark for such controversial humor: “If you find the right joke and George Floyd’s family laughs, you did the right joke.”

Hinchcliffe’s joke, which implied George Floyd was laughing so hard he couldn’t breathe, quickly went viral and sparked significant backlash, including from Floyd’s brother, Terrence Floyd. While Kevin Hart defended Hinchcliffe, calling him “funny” and understanding “the assignment,” the Wayans brothers’ critique highlights the fine line comedians walk when dealing with tragedy.

What are your thoughts on the Wayans brothers’ perspective on Tony Hinchcliffe’s joke? Do you believe comedians should be able to joke about sensitive topics if the punchline is strong enough? Share your views in the comments below!

  • Baby Blue on Scary Movie 6 & Cancel Culture

The iconic ‘Scary Movie’ franchise is making a comeback with its sixth installment, and the stars are aligning! At a special screening event for ‘Scary Movie 6’ in Atlanta, Pretty Ricky’s own Baby Blue Whoaaaa sat down with Hollywood Unlocked to discuss the film’s return, the controversial topic of ‘cancel culture,’ and a friendly (or perhaps not-so-friendly) jab from B2K’s Lil Fizz.

The Wayans Brothers, Marlon and Shawn, are bringing their signature blend of comedy back to the big screen with ‘Scary Movie 6,’ set to premiere on June 5th. The film promises to skewer everything from reboots and remakes to the latest horror trends, all while aiming to ‘cancel cancel culture’ itself.

Praising the Wayans and Criticizing ‘Cancel Culture’

Baby Blue expressed his excitement for the Wayans Brothers’ return, particularly praising Marlon’s long-standing career. “I love that they’re a Black family that’s really holding it down in Hollywood,” he shared, emphasizing their journey from humble beginnings to success. He sees them as true inspirations who have paved the way for others.

However, Blue didn’t hold back when it came to ‘cancel culture.’ He voiced frustration over what he perceives as overly critical fans dictating artists’ careers. “You can’t really be too opinionated over an artist’s craft, because it’s still art at the end of the day,” he stated, referencing criticism leveled at Chris Brown’s recent album. He longs for an era focused on artist development rather than instant judgment.

Addressing the B2K vs. Pretty Ricky Debate

The conversation then turned to Lil Fizz’s recent comment suggesting B2K is a bigger group than Pretty Ricky. Fresh off their successful ‘Millennium Tour,’ Baby Blue responded with a confident analogy. “It’s like an iPhone, right? You got an iPhone 10 or whatever, when the iPhone 11 upgrade comes, you ain’t checking for the 10 no more. Pretty Ricky to upgrade, baby.”

He believes the fans have made their voices heard, siding with Pretty Ricky. “The fans really let him know what it is, and if you read in the comments of everybody that reposted that, they let you know what time it is,” Blue added, suggesting that Pretty Ricky has consistently delivered for their fanbase.

The Future of Touring and Art

Looking ahead, Baby Blue hinted at the possibility of Pretty Ricky embarking on their own tour next year, following the success of ‘The Millennium Tour.’ He emphasized the joy of connecting with fans and delivering great shows.

His critique of ‘cancel culture’ also touched on the democratization of opinions via social media. “The social media gave everybody opinion that don’t deserve an opinion,” he lamented, advocating for a return to valuing expertise and the craft of artistry. He believes opinions should come from those who have already achieved what one aspires to.

  • Wayans Brothers on Kevin Hart’s Roast Controversy

The comedy world is still buzzing about Kevin Hart’s recent Netflix roast, and now, comedy royalty Marlon and Shawn Wayans are sharing their perspectives. While they acknowledge the nature of roasts, they agree that some jokes from the event, particularly those that caused significant backlash, just didn’t hit the mark.

    When Jokes Don’t Land

The controversy largely centered around comedian Tony Hinchcliffe’s jokes, which received mixed reactions, especially one targeting George Floyd. Kevin Hart himself laughed through the moment, a reaction that also drew criticism. As seasoned comedians with a long history of pushing boundaries, the Wayans brothers understand that not every joke will land perfectly.

“There’s gonna be casualties. Unfortunately, some of the jokes didn’t land the way that they possibly could have,” Marlon Wayans stated. Shawn added a concerning thought: “Every time somebody tells a joke, we’re killing our own culture. It’s not good.”

The Comedian’s Dilemma: Balancing Edgy with Effective

Marlon elaborated on the delicate balance comedians must strike. “But, it’s two part,” he explained. “One part comedian, one part Black man. So, the other part of it is, if you’re gonna go there, make sure that joke is really worth it.” He emphasized the responsibility comedians have to sift through potentially dark material to find humor that resonates positively, rather than alienating the audience.

The brothers drew a parallel to their own work, mentioning decisions made during the creation of their latest ‘Scary Movie’ film. “There were things in [the latest Scary Movie film] that we decided not to put in because we felt like it hurt the temperature of the movie,” Marlon shared. “We’re trying to do a movie to make everybody feel good. So, something, if it’s going to make people go, ‘Uggggh,’ that ‘uggh’ stays with you. I don’t want that.”

    Pushing the Envelope Responsibly

Comedy has always been a space to test boundaries and challenge norms. However, as the Wayans brothers highlight, the intent and execution of a joke are crucial. A joke that causes discomfort or offense without a clear comedic payoff can do more harm than good, potentially damaging the very culture it aims to engage with.

  • Wayans Brothers on ‘Scary Movie 6’ & Cancel Culture

Get ready to scream with laughter! The iconic Wayans Brothers, Marlon and Shawn, are officially back in the driver’s seat for “Scary Movie 6.” During a special event in Atlanta, the brothers sat down with Hollywood Unlocked to discuss their return to the beloved franchise, their thoughts on “cancel culture,” Kevin Hart’s recent roast, and Tony Hinchcliffe’s controversial George Floyd joke.

    The Return of ‘Scary Movie’

After being notably absent from installments 3, 4, and 5, Marlon and Shawn Wayans are not only starring in “Scary Movie 6” but are also deeply involved in the writing and producing. They’re joined by original family talent like Keenan Ivory Wayans, nephew Craig Wayans, and producer Rick Alvarez. The film is set to hit theaters on June 5.

The new installment promises to bring back original cast members including Regina Hall, Anna Faris, Jon Abrahams, Dave Sheridan, Cheri Oteri, Chris Elliott, and Lochlyn Munro. Anthony Anderson, who appeared in earlier sequels, is also returning. The Wayans family tree continues to grow with new additions like Kim Wayans, Damon Wayans Jr., and Gregg Wayans, alongside stars like Kenan Thompson and Olivia Rose Keegan.

    Canceling ‘Cancel Culture’ with Comedy

The synopsis for “Scary Movie 6” hints at a satirical take on modern horror tropes, including reboots, remakes, sequels, and “elevated horror.” The Wayans brothers see the film as a way to push back against the current climate of “cancel culture.” “We just canceling the idea that you can’t laugh,” Marlon explained. “I think people need to stop taking themselves so serious.”

Shawn added that it’s up to the audience to decide if they’ve had enough of “cancel culture” and that they “want to laugh again.” Marlon emphasized their brand of comedy, which aims to make people feel good without being intentionally offensive. “If you like Wayans stuff, you’re gonna like ‘Scary Movie.’ This is our brand.”

    On Roasts and Sensitive Jokes

When discussing “The Roast of Kevin Hart,” Marlon described roasts as “bare-knuckle boxing” where comedians are expected to go to dark places. However, he stressed the importance of the joke landing effectively: “You got to make sure that that laugh is worth the offense.” He believes the consequence of a failed joke should simply be that it “didn’t get a laugh,” rather than leading to cancellation.

Addressing Tony Hinchcliffe’s controversial joke about George Floyd, the brothers felt it missed the mark. “It just wasn’t funny enough,” Marlon stated. “And, you know, in this case, it’s too sensitive, and he ain’t found the right joke.” He added that if a joke about such a sensitive topic is going to be made, the family of the deceased should be able to laugh, otherwise, the joke fails.

  • 50 Cent & Marlon Wayans Squash Beef at CinemaCon

You know how online spats can get heated? Well, it looks like 50 Cent and Marlon Wayans decided to trade virtual jabs for real-life laughs! These two entertainment heavyweights, who recently had a very public disagreement, were spotted backstage at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, and guess what? They seemed to be having a blast together.

    From Beef to Backstage Banter

Remember the drama that unfolded late last year? Marlon Wayans took issue with 50 Cent’s docuseries about Diddy, feeling that the rapper was perhaps too harsh, especially given their own past interactions. 50 Cent, never one to back down from a troll-worthy moment, fired back with his signature wit and insults.

It seemed like the feud might linger, with 50 Cent even posting on Instagram that he was done beefing with Marlon because he wasn’t funny anymore. But as we’ve seen with many online disputes, sometimes a face-to-face encounter can clear the air much faster than any social media exchange.

    A Hilarious Resolution

The clip that surfaced from CinemaCon shows the two stars laughing it up, suggesting that their ‘beef’ was more about internet antics than any deep-seated animosity. It appears they’ve managed to squash their differences, proving that sometimes, the best way to handle a public spat is to simply move past it with a smile.

Both men were at the convention promoting their upcoming projects. Wayans is gearing up for ‘Scary Movie 6,’ while 50 Cent is building hype for the ‘Street Fighter’ movie. It’s great to see them supporting each other’s work, even after their public back-and-forth.

    Marlon Wayans’ Perspective

Marlon Wayans himself later spoke about the situation, emphasizing that he didn’t want public quarrels within the culture. He mentioned his brother Dame advising him to pick battles more wisely, humorously suggesting he stick to beefing with people they could ‘beat’ like Soulja Boy or Kevin Hart, and leave those who’ve been through more, like 50 Cent, alone.

    • Criticized 50 Cent’s Diddy docuseries for perceived harshness.
    • 50 Cent responded with insults and jokes.
    • Wayans later stated he didn’t want public quarrels within the culture.
    • Both men were seen laughing together at CinemaCon.
    • The ‘beef’ appears to be officially squashed.

This project promises a fresh take on the classic buddy-cop formula, blending high-stakes action with undeniable chemistry.

To track down a massive cache of stolen opioids that could have devastating consequences if they hit the streets of Chicago.

Described as “When Harry Met Sally with guns,” the movie aims to balance explosive action sequences with compelling romantic tension between the leads. Wayans himself co-wrote the screenplay with his longtime collaborator Rick Alvarez, promising a story that’s as emotionally engaging as it is thrilling.

    A Powerhouse Pairing

  • Jesse Williams on ‘HIM,’ Activism, and Black Identity

Jesse Williams, known for his impactful roles on “Grey’s Anatomy” and Broadway, is expanding his creative horizons with his feature film debut in Justin Tipping’s “HIM.” Starring alongside Marlon Wayans and Tyrique Withers, and produced by Jordan Peele, the film delves into complex themes that resonate with Williams’ lifelong commitment to activism and storytelling. He also recently starred in Cardi B and Kehlani’s music video for “Safe,” showcasing his versatility across different entertainment platforms.

    A Role That Challenges Perceptions

In “HIM,” Williams portrays Daniel De Luca, a half-Italian ex-Marine with a mysterious past who works as a problem-solver at the luxurious Hotel Villa Costiera in Positano, Italy. While navigating the demands of the hotel’s wealthy clientele, De Luca becomes entangled in a dangerous mystery involving Alice, the owner’s daughter. Williams expressed his enthusiasm for the role, particularly its potential to challenge narrow views on Black existence and success beyond American borders. “We exist outside of America, and that seems like a simple statement, but we’re always told that we don’t, so that we don’t kind of belong,” Williams shared in an exclusive interview with MadameNoire. He acknowledged the complexities of race relations globally but found value in a project that offered a lighter, more fun, and escapist narrative.

Williams highlighted the importance of showcasing the diversity within the Black community, noting his interactions with Black Germans, Italians, and Spaniards during filming. “Blackness does not always have to be demonstrated. Doesn’t have to be performed. I don’t care where you’re from; you’re still Black, and nobody can take that from you,” he stated. “There’s more diversity within the Black community than there is outside of it. This is a slice.”

    Balancing Activism with Entertainment

While many know Williams for his impactful roles, his career has consistently been rooted in community and advocacy. He has been a vocal proponent of social justice, using his platform to address racial inequality and police brutality. His executive production of the 2016 documentary “Stay Woke: The Black Lives Matter Movement” and his powerful BET Humanitarian Award acceptance speech are testaments to his commitment.

Williams sees a seamless connection between his activism and his acting career. “Real life experience and consciousness and activism and connection to what’s happening in the world, and certainly social justice—that’s been the fabric of who I am,” he explained. “Just because there’s a camera now, don’t mean I’m going to change.” He emphasizes that his choices in projects are driven by a desire to push narratives forward and showcase the diverse spectrum of Black existence, whether through overtly political statements or simply by occupying space and representing identity.

    Advice for the Next Generation

Williams encourages young people to prioritize reading and education, recommending “The African Origin of Civilization” by Cheikh Anta Diop. He also stresses that the responsibility for social change lies with everyone, not just those in the spotlight. “I don’t think that just because you can dunk or act or sing, you have more responsibility to care about your people, than if you’re a plumber or a teacher or a window washer,” he stated. “We’re all members of this community. We should all live, and love, and especially us, we got to look out for each other.”
