On a recent overcast Wednesday in New York City, the heart of Manhattan was buzzing with style and inspiration. HelloBeautiful and MadameNoire joined forces to host their highly anticipated 2026 Women To Know Breakfast, celebrating remarkable Black women who are making significant waves in their respective fields.
This year’s honorees – beauty mogul Danessa Myricks, entrepreneur Janell Stephens, and celebrity makeup artist Ashunta Sheriff – were showered with well-deserved recognition. The event, held at the elegant EDITION Hotel in Times Square, brought together beauty editors, industry tastemakers, influencers, and insiders for an unforgettable morning.
A Celebration of Style and Sisterhood
The venue was transformed with lush, woven foliage, creating a beautiful ‘garden chic’ atmosphere that perfectly complemented the dress code. Attendees arrived in stunning flowy dresses, vibrant pastels, eye-catching prints, and bold spring colors, showcasing the diverse fashion sense within the beauty community.
Guests were treated to delicious family-style meals and custom cocktails featuring ice cubes branded with the ‘Women To Know’ logo. The morning was filled with engaging conversations, valuable networking opportunities, and a palpable sense of sisterhood.
Honoring Trailblazers
The event kicked off with opening remarks from Cliché Wynter-Mayo, Director of Sponsor & Affiliate Content at iOneDigital, and Allison McGevna, SVP of Content. The highlight of the morning was the presentation of honors to the incredible women of the year.
Krystal Holmes introduced Danessa Myricks, who accepted her award with a heartfelt and humbled speech. Ashunta Sheriff was introduced by MadameNoire’s Managing Editor Danica Daniels, while HelloBeautiful’s Editorial Director Shamika Sanders presented Janell Stephens with her bouquet. Shamika also returned to honor Chi Chi Ebiru, the founder of Juvia’s Place, for their generous sponsorship.
Attendees also enjoyed a ‘beauty confessional’ photo booth by Juvia’s Place, set against a textured green backdrop and produced by Renae Bluitt. Upon arrival, guests were greeted with Juvia’s Place products and deluxe gift bags filled with items from the founders and other participating brands.
