Get ready, Detroit hip-hop fans! One of the decade’s biggest names, 42 Dugg, is back with a new installment in his popular song series. The latest track, “It Get Deeper Pt. 3,” features the soulful and triumphant vocals of Doughboy Clay, adding a fresh layer to Dugg’s signature sound.
A Familiar Sound with Elevated Elements
If you’re a fan of 42 Dugg, you’ll recognize the raw charisma and distinctive rasp that made tracks like “We Not Done” so impactful. This new single stays true to that authentic Detroit bounce we’ve come to expect. However, “It Get Deeper Pt. 3” offers a compelling contrast, blending Dugg’s gritty delivery with the soaring, dramatic tones provided by Doughboy Clay.
The production itself is a masterclass in creating space for the artists. Rising string-like synths and subtle sampled tones provide a rich backdrop, allowing Dugg’s sharp bars and the driving drum beat to take center stage. It’s a combination that works surprisingly well, leading the track to an unexpectedly uplifting mood by its conclusion.
Lyrical Depth and Uplifting Vibes
While “It Get Deeper Pt. 3” doesn’t represent a radical departure from 42 Dugg’s established style, it feels like one of his most inspired cuts in this vein. The lyrics touch on themes of struggle and resilience, with lines like, ‘N***as got to be crazy, talking about no more dropping fives, Like you don’t feel s**t for all the nights when we was crying.’ It’s this blend of raw emotion and confident delivery that makes the track so engaging.
I’m the type to still blow, n***a, and I’m famous — 42 Dugg
The collaboration with Doughboy Clay elevates the song, adding a layer of soulful depth that complements Dugg’s assertive presence. This track proves that even within a familiar formula, there’s room for inspired creativity and impactful storytelling.
