  • Eve on Touring as a Mom: ‘I Have a Double Life’

Eve is proving that motherhood and a rap career can coexist beautifully. The legendary emcee is back on the road, co-headlining Nelly’s “Where The Party At Tour,” and she’s doing it with a new perspective. As the sole female performer among a sea of male artists, Eve embraces her role, not just as a performer, but as a representative for women in the industry.

Motherhood and the ‘Calm Chaos’ of Touring

While being the only woman on tour might seem daunting, Eve finds it “normal.” However, she acknowledges the responsibility that comes with it. “Knowing that yes, I’m the only female on this tour— my choreography is a certain way. I have two female dancers as well. It’s normal, but at the same time, I do have to show up because I feel like I am representing for the females that are coming to the show as well,” she explained.

Her touring experience has transformed significantly since her earlier days. Instead of an entourage of friends, Eve is now accompanied by her son, Wilde Wolf, and her mother, Julie. She describes this new dynamic as a “calm chaos” she cherishes. “Back then, we were crazy,” she recalled. “Now, it’s like we get on the bus, make sure the baby’s in bed. [I’m] making a cup of tea. It’s so different [and] so nice.”

    A New Outlook on Life

For Eve, motherhood has brought a profound shift in her perspective. “I have a whole new life and outlook on life because of my kid, and that is so nice,” she shared. Seeing the world through her observant three-year-old son’s eyes reminds her to stay present and appreciate the simple moments. “When your kids are so in the moment, everything that they do is in awe. I think that’s something that I love when I’m with him, he takes me out of my head.”

While “the party” for Eve might now be at home, she and her husband, Maxmillion Cooper, make sure to prioritize their relationship with regular date nights. She feels she’s not missing out on anything, describing her life as having a “double life.” One moment she’s rehearsing for tour, the next she’s discussing nursery details with her mom friends, who often come from different professional backgrounds like finance or medicine.

    What’s Next for Eve?

Eve’s “Scorpio nature” keeps her seeking new challenges. She’s considering penning another book, this time focusing on motherhood, exploring behind-the-camera roles in TV/film projects, potentially reviving her ‘Fetish’ clothing line, or returning to the studio for new music. Whatever her next move, Eve is ready for the challenge, embracing the evolution of her career and life.
