Attorneys Drew Findling, Zach Findling, and Marissa Goldberg have publicly stated that the 27-year-old Florida native was “unjustly profiled and unlawfully arrested in Atlanta.” They believe the Atlanta Police Department’s Crime Suppression Unit operates with a “quota-driven” approach to arrests. The legal team is prepared to “vigorously challenge this baseless arrest and the clear violations of Mr. Green’s rights in court.”
Details regarding a future court hearing are still pending. The incident occurred on Friday, November 7, on Howell Mill Road. Officers reportedly pulled Rod Wave over, alleging he sped through a stop sign. During the interaction, officers claim to have discovered suspected marijuana and other controlled substances, along with a firearm.
Charges and Grammy Nomination
As a result of the stop, Rod Wave was arrested on multiple charges. These include possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of certain felonies, possession of a Schedule II and Schedule V controlled substance, and reckless driving. He was held in Fulton County Jail for approximately 24 hours before posting bail on Saturday.
