Remember Mo’ne Davis? The incredible young pitcher who made history at the Little League World Series? Well, she’s back on the diamond! The former Hampton University softball player has officially signed with the brand-new Indianapolis Clowns, a franchise in the Banana Ball Championship League.
A New Chapter in Baseball
The announcement came via social media on April 8th, marking an exciting new chapter for the athlete. Davis, who first captured national attention at just 13 years old for being the first girl to throw a shutout in the Little League World Series history, made her debut for the Clowns recently. The crowd showed their support with a standing ovation as she took the pitching mound.
Coming in as a relief pitcher, Davis made an immediate impact, getting the opposing batter to ground out and seal the win. After the game, she shared her gratitude for the team’s support: “It feels great to get the support of my teammates. I have the support of everyone in this organization. To inspire other girls, to let them know, you know, you can do this. You know, those girls on every single team, that you can do whatever you put your mind to.”
From Little League Icon to Pro Player
For those who remember, Davis’s fastball clocked in at an impressive 70 mph during her Little League days. She also showcased her pitching prowess by throwing a shutout with eight strikeouts in her team’s first game against Nashville. Beyond baseball, she also played basketball in high school and softball at Hampton University.
This signing comes on the heels of another significant achievement: Davis was selected as the 10th overall pick in the inaugural Women’s Pro Baseball League Draft in November 2025. That league is set to launch with four teams representing New York, Boston, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, playing their games in Springfield, Illinois.
Mo’ne Davis continues to be a powerful role model, inspiring young girls and demonstrating that with dedication and talent, dreams can indeed become reality.
