During a livestream featuring Tanjali, Broner allegedly touched her inappropriately. Video footage shows Broner, seated next to Tanjali, tapping her behind with the back of his hand as she stood up to leave. The interaction clearly made Tanjali uncomfortable, leading her to state she was going home.
Outside the location, Tanjali expressed her distress on stream, saying, “That has never happened to me. That’s the first time somebody actually slapped my a** or tried some s**t on me… That’s crazy. I really hope he apologizes. ‘Cause I know he’s drunk. But being drunk doesn’t excuse your behavior. That’s just all around weird. I low-key wanted to cry in that moment.”
Broner’s Response and Tanjali’s Clarification
Following the widespread attention, The Shade Room reportedly spoke with Broner, who denied violating Tanjali, stating, “She over-doing it. Tell her I said I’m sorry and I apologize call or text me.” He suggested he was drunk but implied her reaction was excessive.
Aya Tanjali later addressed the situation on her Instagram Story. While she initially felt uncomfortable, after rewatching the video, she stated she believes Broner might not have meant anything by it. However, she emphasized, “At the same time, I still feel like no man should be putting their hands on a woman in any way that can make her uncomfortable, intentional or not.” She urged people to stop spreading false information and thanked those who offered support.
