    It was a special weekend at Spelman College in Atlanta, where two famous moms, Angelina Jolie and Gizelle Bryant, joined their daughters for a heartwarming mother-daughter event. Zahara Jolie-Pitt and Angel Bryant, both students at the historic HBCU and members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., were celebrated alongside their celebrity mothers.

    A Unique Mother-Daughter Bond

    During a brunch hosted by the Pearls of Purpose Foundation and the Nu Lambda Omega Chapter of AKA, Zahara, a graduating senior and vice president of Spelman’s AKA chapter, took the stage. She spoke candidly about her relationship with her mom, Angelina Jolie, describing it as something truly special and hard to put into words.

    “My mom and I have a unique, almost kindred, relationship that can be hard to put into words,” Zahara shared with the audience. She explained that her love for her mother is a “found one,” referencing her adoption at six months old. She highlighted the special siblings she gained and the profound values her mother instilled.

    Values That Shaped Zahara

    Zahara emphasized the importance of kindness and helping others, values she learned from Jolie. “These values may sound simple, but in a world where kindness is overlooked and helping others comes at a cost, I am grateful to have had a role model to show me what it looks like to be a decent human being,” she said.
