Get ready for a dose of nostalgia! Lil Wayne and Lil Twist have officially dropped the music video for their collaborative track, “Addict,” and it’s bringing back all those classic Young Money vibes. The duo, who first released the single back in February, reunited to bring the song to life visually, sharing the result on YouTube this past Monday.
A Young Money Reunion
For fans who remember Lil Twist signing to Lil Wayne’s Young Money Entertainment back in 2010, this reunion is a welcome sight. “Addict” marks yet another collaboration between the two artists, showcasing their enduring chemistry over the years. The music video is already generating a buzz, with fans flooding the YouTube comments with praise for the nostalgic feel.
Many listeners are reminiscing about the golden era of hip-hop, with one fan commenting, “I ain’t gon lie. It gives 2011 vibes. I’m here for it. That era is the last time I remember actually enjoying music.” Another expressed a common sentiment, hoping for more from the label: “We need a we are young money sequel album….(could only hope for it) but i hope everyone straight!!!!”
The Vibe of “Addict”
The track itself features a sultry piano melody that sets a smooth, captivating mood. Both Twist and Wayne deliver verses about being captivated by the women in their lives. Twist’s chorus perfectly encapsulates the theme: “That lil’ red dress and pretty heels, that’s it / That brand new trick you just learned is magic / She walk in the house so fast I had it / That ass walk past so fast, I grabbed it / That ass on shine, what’s that, metallic? / I need it every time I see it, an addict.”
A History of Collaborations
This isn’t the first time Wayne and Twist have joined forces. The song “Addict” was first previewed during Lil Wayne’s Welcome To Tha Carter Tour back in 2023, building anticipation for its official release. Over the years, they’ve collaborated on tracks like “Popular” and “2 Hot For TV,” solidifying their musical partnership.
More recently, Lil Twist has been independently releasing projects such as “The Golden Child 3” and the “MIXTAPE TWIZZY” series. Meanwhile, Lil Wayne continued his prolific output with “Tha Carter VI” in 2025, a project that boasted features from an impressive lineup including BigXthaPlug, Jelly Roll, Big Sean, and even contributions from his sons, Kameron Carter and Lil Novi.
