  • Ludacris Foundation Marks 25 Years of Youth Impact

It’s a major milestone! The Ludacris Foundation, established by the renowned artist and actor Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, is proudly celebrating 25 years of dedicated community service and impactful youth-focused initiatives. This quarter-century mark highlights a consistent commitment to giving back.

    A Lifelong Commitment to Community

Roberta J. Shields, Ludacris’s mother and the foundation’s president, shared that giving back has been a core goal for Chris since his youth. “When Chris was small, we would have goals in terms of his achievements,” Shields explained. “Part of those goals was giving back to the community.”

This philosophy was instilled early on, mirroring the structured goal-setting approach used for her staff. “I really mimicked what I did for my staff with my son,” she added. “He had goals, he had measurements.”

    The Foundation’s Structure and Vision

Currently, The Ludacris Foundation is run by a dedicated team of nine individuals, with Ludacris serving as chairman and Shields as president. Supported by program and communications staff, the small but mighty team keeps the foundation’s mission alive.

Shields expressed gratitude for the ongoing support, noting the vital role of corporate partners. “Every corporate partner that Chris has has provided support to the foundation in some way,” she said. “We’ve been extremely blessed, and we’ve never lost the vision of why we want to do this, so that we can bless others.”

    New Music, New Initiatives

With Ludacris recently releasing his new single “Pull Over,” the foundation is also embracing new ways to engage. He’s issued a nationwide challenge to marching bands, the #PullOverChallenge, which has already seen enthusiastic responses from HBCUs like Florida A&M University (FAMU) and Clark Atlanta University.
