It’s official: Drake’s reign in the music industry continues to be recognized. Billboard has named the Toronto superstar the number one Top R&B/Hip-Hop Artist of the 21st Century, a testament to his unparalleled dominance over the past decade.
Record-Breaking Chart Dominance
Drake’s journey to the top of this prestigious list is built on a foundation of staggering chart achievements. Since his first chart entry in 2009, he has amassed an incredible 30 number-one hits on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and 15 top spots on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. These numbers not only lead the 21st century but also set all-time records for chart history.
Beyond number ones, Drake boasts an impressive 135 top 10 songs and a total of 355 chart entries. His albums have spent a combined 67 weeks at the number one position on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. Furthermore, he has been crowned Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Artist for a record eight years, including consecutive wins in recent years.
Looking Ahead: ‘ICEMAN’ and European Tour
With such a monumental achievement, fans are eagerly anticipating Drake’s next move. His highly anticipated ninth studio album, ‘ICEMAN,’ is expected to drop near the end of 2025. While the rollout has included a video series, updates have been sparse, leaving fans speculating about the release date. Former NFL player Johnny Manziel recently suggested an October or November release.
In the meantime, Drake is currently captivating audiences across Europe on his tour with PARTYNEXTDOOR. The tour continues with upcoming dates in Italy, showcasing his enduring global appeal and commitment to live performances. His continued success proves he’s not just an artist of the century, but a defining voice in contemporary music.
