  • Lyft Now Lets You Earn Airline Miles

Planning your holiday travel? Lyft is stepping up to make your journeys to and from the airport a whole lot smoother – and more rewarding! The popular rideshare service is rolling out new features designed to ease the stress of holiday travel and benefit frequent flyers.

    Making Airport Trips Easier

Lyft’s research shows that a significant 71% of riders find getting to and from the airport more challenging than the flight itself. With demand for airport rides expected to surge by 20% the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and another 30% on the Sunday and Monday after, Lyft is committed to easing that burden. A whopping 86% of riders actually prefer using rideshare over driving themselves to the airport.

To combat the holiday rush, Lyft is now allowing riders to schedule airport drop-offs and pick-ups up to 90 days in advance. They’re also increasing the availability of XXL rides to handle extra luggage and gifts, ensuring you can bring everything you need for your holiday celebrations.

    Earn While You Travel

But the perks don’t stop at ground transportation. Lyft is integrating air travel rewards through its partnerships. In a new collaboration with United Airlines, you can now earn four United MileagePlus® miles for every dollar spent on pre-scheduled rides to and from the airport.

    • Four miles per dollar on pre-scheduled airport rides with United.
    • Three miles per dollar on Extra Comfort, Lyft Black, and Black SUV rides.
    • Two miles per dollar on Standard, Priority Pickup, and XL rides with a business profile.
    • One mile per dollar on Standard, Priority Pickup, and XL rides.

Lyft’s CMO, Brian Irving, stated that this collaboration brings their brand purpose of ‘serve and connect’ to life, offering riders more value on trips they’re already taking and making their entire travel journey more seamless.

    A Multitasker’s Dream

These new features are a game-changer for busy individuals who are constantly on the move. Award-winning journalist and author Elaine Welteroth, who juggles multiple roles and takes hundreds of Lyft rides and books over 50 flights annually, can attest to the benefits. She shared, “I am the queen of multitasking, and I love to maximize every minute.”

Welteroth highlighted the appeal of earning rewards while traveling: “I love the idea of being able to earn United Miles on my Lyft to earn United Points or rewards on my Lyft rides. It just makes sense.” She encourages others to connect their accounts to start earning extra points effortlessly.
