Judge Jennifer L. Rochon determined that both Blackburn and his client, Dixon, missed depositions that were scheduled for early February. While Blackburn had notified opposing counsel about his inability to attend, he apparently didn’t take sufficient steps to reschedule or resolve the issue. As a consequence, the court ordered Blackburn and Dixon to reimburse Fat Joe’s legal team for the costs incurred due to these missed sessions.
The ruling stated, “Defendants are ORDERED to pay Plaintiff the reasonable costs incurred.” Fat Joe’s legal team had sought more severe penalties, such as covering all legal fees and pursuing disciplinary action against Blackburn, but these requests were not granted by the judge.

The underlying lawsuit initiated by Dixon against Fat Joe centers on claims of alleged unpaid wages and other related disputes. It’s messing my head up,” even as he continued to participate.
